8:43 the same thing happens with those clear fridge/freezer doors at super markets. as we all know, it likes to slam closed on you when you're trying to grab your milk or whatever. If you open it all the way, it will lock open, so it won't close on you when you're grabbing stuff, and then you can just close it like normal.
