Que bien! Estoy intentando a aprender español. Ahorita mi español es como una mierda jaja pero gracias!
Every video says to always have clean tungsten, wich i totally agree... but, i had a professor, who can and he encourage his students to just keep welding even if the tungsten is all black, he showed us that with aluminium and at the end of the pass, the tungsten was all clean, just perfect... everything.
@5thStreetFab

yep especially on aluminum. as it gets hotter the contamination will ride up the tungsten to where the bottom of the tungsten will be clean. but all the aluminum on the tungsten seems to vaporize into your weld puddle. In this video first 3 welds were all with the same contaminated tungsten, then the last was with a fresh tungsten. You can definitely see and feel a difference. I think when you're learning though the less things you have to fight or wonder why its not working, the easier it is. That's why I always say keep em fresh!
I know, bc of Big Tig i failed my welding test. We need to expose them!!

How do you clean your tungsten? Let’s say I dip mine. Do you just grind it sharp again or cut off the end completely? I’d love to see something about tungsten cleaning
@5thStreetFab

you can cut it past the contamination and resharpen it, but I usually grind the side of the tungsten until the contamination is off and then resharpen.

@@5t341tH nope and you'll see it when you're grinding, the sparks will change to red orange when its tungsten you're grinding.

How come when my tungsten balled up I got the best welds yet?
@5thStreetFab
3 ай бұрын
I find the same thing if i was doing outside corners all day i would use a balled tungsten the whole time. I gind the best all around way is to put a small ball at the tio of the tungsten. The ball seems to help the arc shoot off on all directions evenly and helps melt both sides of an outside corner evenly and consistently.
A great video. Keeping it simple. But you sort of touch upon something that has pissed me off about all these welding videos. We know that many of the presenters are professional welders and they make it look easy but they also manipulate you into believing a certain level of approach and also what equipment to buy. I've pretty much gone to Korean and German videos (and the finger pointing without dialog) because they just focus on welding. Honestly, some of these videos are like Tony Romo analyzing the Super Bowl. Sometimes less is better.
Big tig also likes to mix my gas wrong. I get bad tanks of argon/helium 50/50. Makes me so mad when you have perfect welds and you change the bottle and no matter what you do, it's black and inconsistent. Your looking thin. You eating bro?
@5thStreetFab

oh mr. fancy with his 50/50 tanks while I suffer through 75/25 haha. Ya man and you think you're going crazy! I had a brand new wrapped bottle with no gas at all a couple months back. Ya man haha I lost like 30 pounds by drinking less beer! Thanks for stoppin by dude!

Hiding from "Big Tig" stresses a person out big time. Don't answer the door and always leave your house in the dark, no head lights until you are a couple blocks away. We have your back!

Great video!!! Could you cover the subject of how aluminum gets weaker in the heat affect zone next to the weld and how to prevent it or re strengthen.
