All good points. All things considered, art is an investment, and Pokemon is art, and memorabilia and a game. Sure it's just cardboard, but money is just paper.

As a kid 2001 I was told pokemon cards wouldn't be worth anything. Sure wish I had those binders back 😂

Your point on the pop reports is definitely showing some truth. Those high pop top chase cards...check how many of them are ever for sale in a PSA 10 at one time....hardly any it seems. This to me demonstrates just how many more people are collecting now compared to previous eras.

Yep...Opening packs is always i disappointing haha.

I think these new art styles will bring their own niche of collectors. Ever since i saw the Pikachu poncho/ cosplay, I thought they were the best-looking cards around, and I wanted them. Now, there's a plethora of stunning artworks around which are cheap now, just like poncho was at release. I think we are at a great time to collect at a good price. The value only matters when you want to sell.

Absolutely! Pokemon won't repeat them. Plus they look so good in a binder.

the first point you make about how vintage is already at its high whilst modern is at its low is extreamly important. i remember when evo skies boxes were going for 100 a piece i was telling a friend of mine who invest a ton of money into cards that he should pick up a few cases. he told me modern is never going to be worth anything due to being printed so much and that vintage is the way to go. i told him that vintage can only climb so much before it reaches its peak if it has not done so already but evo skies booster boxes will at most only drop by another 20$ and in five years will easily be worth more than 100$. he disagreed and about a month later the evo skies boxes were worth 130$ and the vintage market crashed. its usually a better idea to by things that have not taken off than to buy things that have already taken off. sometimes you will still make money if you buy things that have already taken off but you will almost always make more money if you buy things that have not yet taken off.

Plus on the pop report, alot of people crack there slabs and regade them and not tell psa, cgc, bgs or ags. So you gonna count a small precent not there and regraded. Alot of people regaded, there alot of videos out there where the break bgs 9.5 and send them in t psa or crack psa 9's and tryna regrade them for ten on higher tier and same with cgc with 9.5s and ext.

Maybe i will get hate but honestly pokemon is more relying on their old gen pokemon than the new pokemons therefore why the new sets will not likelya have much interest or demand such as the swsh and backforth eras, s&v era only 151 saved pokemons as i personally like paldea evolved but the rest i am not really a fan of and after 151 had its relise 7 months later it got alteady its reprint which makes sense because people dont like new sets or new pokemon, for me the boom has been already mad and now its slowly decreasing because also pokemon is just farting out sets with no special context, there is far too many sets released its like every 2 months

For me pokemon was more into collecting than investment as i am more from the ex-era( fireRedleafGreen era) and i was always getting pumped upp for the ex cards, holos, reverse holos. Nowadays modern people treat cards as the reverse holos and holos as shiet and thrash because its not worth a lot. And it feels there is no new collector for genuine collecting for the artworks. Pokemon was never made for investment only it was meant for collecting and gaminh and of course franchise but i hate that fact there is litteraly new sets coming out every 2 months nowadays and no S&V sets can match the sets of like Chillign Reign och Crown zenith ig you are a real collector, Collect CZ its so much fun to open and has genuine beautiful cards especially the Gallarian gallery every single one of them are beautiful

I'm against grading anyway, but it just sickens me how everyone turns to PSA as the one and only. It's all a big scam and PSA bots/shills did an extraordinary work. A PSA 10 just means a person graded it that way, when it could've been a 9 or 8, and vice versa. Edit: another point, Im convinced you're wrong about the future value of modern cards. Doesnt matter if they are harder to pull, everyone is sleeving them. Besides, vintage/initial sets is where most of the value is. Modern cards would be worth nothing if the vintage didnt become popular. Everyone is betting on a future charizard, my dude. I just think you're trying to manipulate what the general public feels.
