My blue-eyed soul sisters!!!I I wore that cassette out in the 80's. The problem with the great artist of the 80's were the follow ups. Expose was clearly one of the TOP Female acts of the 80's and if they would have had a consistent production crew they would have lasted a lot longer than they did. I still consider them one of the best girl groups ever.

What I liked about The Apollo was that it was so raw. Whoever performed there was really singing and whatnot. There was no lip-syncing on that stage. And as Expose has just proved you either have it or you don't. Great job, Ladies.

I've been watching so many Exposé videos lately... and people complaining that they're not singing live. Well, here they are... live! It's not their fault they were forced to perform to a backing track. This is them showing off how great they are. They always knew how to deliver... and they still do!

These chicks could sing their asses off...they really slayed the shit outta this in front of one of the toughest, most critical audiences at that time...if the Apollo crowd liked you, you were poised for stardom which is exactly what these ladies proved. ❤️

Man, these lead vocals are searing! Can't get enough of it. Gioia had it goin on.

Although Jeanette had the lovely voice made for radio, Gioa had the soulful strong voice, such a great combination, very underrated group, they were everything you wanted in a pop group, exposure was released when I was 11 years old, entertainers put more heart into their performances back then.

Back when people actually could sing.

I saw Jeanette a few years ago in Las Vegas, during the freestyle explosion concert at the New Orleans hotel, I'm not sure what happened with the track but it got ruined during her performance, Gio was in the audience w/Kurtis Blow not peformning and Ann wasn't there - Jeanette was representing for the girl group alone, she finally got pissed and said i'm gonna sing this song acapella, and acapella she did - she brought the house down - the girl has got some vocal skillz

I was so in love with Gioia Bruno back in the days, I was one of their biggest fans, was in the fan club and everything lol, I saw them in concert and was in 3rd row but creeped up to first row during intermission, i have a scrapbook still of them in the shed, gioia, ann curless and jeanette jurado, they replaced jeanette with someone else or i think she replaced the original singer. Gioia has an amazing voice. I miss them

this brought so many memories...I crushed on all three of these ladies but Ann was my heartfelt one haha. They were such an awesome show and remember one concert where absolutely everyone was dancing during the show. Glad to see they are back together and still performing, still sounding great.

The audience witnessed raw talent that night for sure. No autotune no lip sync just straight up talent. Singing live while dancing as well. This song still hits in 2024!

I remember when they first came out! We thought it was an all black group! They break barriers with their singing , especially at the Apollo.

The first time I heard this song on the radio, I was under the impression that it was some fat black lady singing it like she was at the pulpit of the church until I saw this performance and I was completely blown away. The black radio stations around here(WDAS, Power 99)were burning the hell out of that record.

Based on all the people incorrectly calling Jeanette a "Filipina", I need to correct this. I asked her about this point blank a few days ago. She is "100% Mexican Baby"--her own words. She doesn't have any Filipina in her.

Dred Lion The 80's was still a time when artists knew it was a big deal (career make-or-break) to perform & deliver at THE Apollo theater. It was a rite of passage & respected as such.

She was very entertaining back in those days. I remember hearing that she was married to Sandman Sims, which is why she was seated in the front for every show.
