You do realize that the storm was right over the top of you? A simple trick is to time the difference between the lightning and the thunder. 3 seconds equals 1 kilometre at sea level. I live in Adelaide, South Australia and it is rare to see a flash and then hear thunder in under 3 seconds it's normally between 6 and 9 seconds.

What the heck in Kerala every thunderstorm you see, you will encounter minimum 1 lightning which gets thunder in half seconds

Bro it depends what altitude you’re at relative to your surroundings and how close you are to the storm. I live on a mountain and have had lightning strike 20m away from me (near death experience I guess)

@@alfatejpblind6498 yep I saw one almost 25m away from me stroke a tree nd now that tree is cut down, Btw you wont notice the lightning in those instances coz what you see is a lightning with thunder in the same isntance

@@semprocarnage Yeah and it is kind of weird. Lightning struck a light pole right in front of my grandma's house and I heard the thunder in slow motion. First it sounded like a pot fell to the ground and then it sounded like that pot started rolling in the ground. I didn't actually see the lightning strike. All I saw was the whole sky turning white. The lightning struck about 25 meters away from where I was at.

If you listen closely around the end of the video, or atleast I heard it, there sounds like some sorta tornado siren or siren of some sort in the distance, you kinda gotta really listen though.

That sounds like an E57 Siren. That is used mostly in Europe (Germany, Austria) for firefighters. But is also used to warn the Citizens if danger occours.
