Exploring What Remains Of One Of Florida's Oldest Amusement Parks! | New Smyrna Beach Trip Day 3!
Today’s vlog is day 3 of our New Smyrna Beach vacation! We start with breakfast at the hotel, the Riverview provides a continental breakfast that is delivered right to your door each morning. We had breakfast out on the balcony and watched the boats go by, it was such a nice way to start the day. Then we head to the Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens, which was about a 20 minute drive from the hotel. This botanical garden has the remnants of the old sugar mill. You can get a pretty good look at the old machinery and mill equipment. The gardens were also home to Bongoland back in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s, which was one of Florida’s oldest amusement parks. Bongoland had live animals, a miniature train that would tour you around the park and large dinosaur sculptures made of cement. The park closed in the 1952 but some of the dinosaurs remain to this day. We were able to get a closer look at 4 of them. Jackson had a lot of fun picking up every rock and we had a lot of fun checking out the gardens and seeing what remained of Bongoland. Then we head back for some lunch and dinner, both were delicious! We were also able to book Tim for a spa appointment which was an awesome surprise, so he takes you a long for that. We had a great day and we hope you had fun hanging out with us! Thank you for watching and we’ll see you tomorrow with a new vid!

Use a thin Sharpie and label all the rocks with places and dates! We did that for my nephew and knowing where each one was from was great!
The science of why a rock feels cool to the touch, despite it being the same temperature of everything else around it, is that the rock absorbs energy. When something feels warm or cool in the hand, you aren't (technically) feeling the temperature of the thing, you're feeling the transfer of energy (heat) between that object and yourself. So the stone absorbs the energy in your body away from you, and it feels like it cools you off.

Get a Sharpie pen and write the date and location on the bottom of Jackson's rocks. When he's older you can read the detail and tell him about where you all were when he found it.

Or one of those craft boxes with the individual spaces (like this www.spotlightstores.com/craft-hobbies/art-craft-storage/craft-storage/craft-organisers/crafters-choice-large-storage-box/80440043) so you know where each one is from - take a photo incase they get mixed up too

BONGOLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jackson literally couldn’t be any cuter, the rocks, fire hat, him dancing and eating lunch…. Adorable ❤️❤️❤️
Jackson being proud of his rock is just the cutest! It’s like he said “look!!!”

I friggin’ love it when he makes that sound as he smiles and shows his rock😊 It’s so adorable
jenn saying "we caught you in 4k" in that tone was so funny omg
Regarding rock jar: I keep a mason jar in my laundry room specifically for “pocket rocks”. Rocks found in my kids’ pockets. With Jackson’s love of leaves it would be cute to press some of his leaves in a book to later scrapbook with or otherwise make some sort of art piece with.
Love your channel! Thanks for being one of the classy acts who respect all people and refrain from swearing during your vlogs. It's not just that our whole family can watch... it's professional and intelligent of you. Love you three. ❤
"Dinosaurs this way!" *pans to Jackson* "AAAAAAAUUUUUUGHHH!!!" --> probably my favourite gag XD
You can name the jar of rocks, Jackson’s adventure rocks! Also being firefighter, Jackson in his little fire helmet melted my heart. I love seeing kids excited about firefighters. I have some stickers from my department and would love to send him a few.
Loved the gardens, I agree Jenn, it reminded me of old Tim Tracker videos. I used to take my son to stuff like that and he, too, picked up rocks and brought them home. He is now an underwater archeologist, with a minor in geology. I guess it stuck with him.
Since Jackson loves rocks and has been collecting them it might be cool to paint some with him and leave a Tracker rock when you guys visit places :) PS: I love the old videos of Tim exploring local parks! Would definitely love to see those again!
Tim and Jen, regarding the rocks Jackson finds on your adventures, maybe you could try to write location on it with date so he will see where he found the rocks. Just a thought 👍❤️ He is so adorable and you both are wonderful parents.
Love Jackson's food dance🥰.
This is just what I needed! A stroll through a tropical garden, your videos have helped so much missing my loving husband, Jackson never fails to bring me laughter and smiles, so thank you!
I love strolling quirky little places like that. Jackson was adorable, as always. Fun video.
My uncle still does his sugar cane the old school way in El Salvador 💙 it’s amazing to see the process! When they do it they have all the family, friends and neighbors to come out to help because it’s such a long hard process.
I would go to the Ponce inlet Lighthouse!! One of my favorite places in the area!
Little Free Libraries are such a fun way to donate books and find new ones. So cute that they had one there. You can go on the official website for the map to locate the closest LFL near you.
Can;t wait to see the collection of rocks build
I’m a Florida Native (54) and when I was Very young we would go to Six Guns Territory; a gun slinging -western experience that my Dad loved. I guess he felt like he was in an episode of Bonanza. LOL When I was about 8, we went a few times to Marco Polo Park, it was a very fun amusement park with log rides, bumper cars and other fun rides. A small airplane crashed into it and after they repaired it they changed the name to Passport to Fun World. I remember it wasn’t as far as Disney. Im in St. Augustine and Disney is about 2 1/2 hours away so it was about halfway. Neat old Florida history.
Lovely chilled out day xxx
Wow. That park is so cool!
Oh my gosh!! Jackson is getting so big already! He is absolutely precious!
I still have a bucket of rocks my son would collect. So they are precious.
Awe my daughter loves "collecting" rocks too! What a cute idea to remember their little adventures.
it's so interesting to see touristy vlogs of this area, cuz I'm like 15 minutes from the sugar mill and rarely give it a second thought.
I am loving all of these little getaways and learning about all of the awesome places around Florida. Much appreciated. Oh my goodness my son LOVED collecting rocks. We literally had bags of rocks in the house haha. He'll still even at 17 years old pick up a rock that he thinks is a keeper. I think putting them in a jar is an adorable idea. Probably would be better than keeping them in bags like we did haha... Huge hugs and love to you guys xoxo
My daughter was obsessed with rocks like Jackson too! So cute ☺️
wow! looked so relaxing 💛
It's great to see new places to see in Florida.
Love when y’all are near my area! We love the dunlawton sugar mills trail with our little man.
That spa looks amazinggggg ❤️
Woohoo. I caught this right as you posted! ❤️
The nature in Florida is wonderful! 🌴💕 Thank you for sharing hidden gems around Florida with us! ⛱️😃
Fun times thanks.
He’s a little rock collector I love it 🥺💕
Flagler avenue looks really nice ! Jackson was just so cute again today the fire department were so lovely giving Jackson the hat ! Stay safe x x
Being a local, I love this, please do more videos like this, would love some nature vids too! I want to see this so fun
Tim and Jen, love your positivity. Been enjoying your videos for a while now. Thanks for the many years of inspiration!!

Oh wow! My grandfather lives there by the sugar mill and I have been through there a million times and never stopped to check it out! So cool
When my in laws lived in Daytona. we would take picnics to Dunlawton. They also have a very nice little wedding venue there too.
Tim has the best voice. I really think he could do character voiceover work.
Amazing
I collect cool rocks from every trip that we take camping or whenever we take our little trips somewhere. I write the dates and location of where we were at. I love doing this and then in a few years I can show the my one day grandkids where we’ve been. 🥰
Thanks for sharing your trips 😀
Love this!!!
I love the ferns they are my favorite and cool garden
Thank you for sharing your adventures
Nailed it!👌
Those dinosaurs are hilarious!😂 Just love seeing Jackson having fun!
I love y’all!!! Cant wait to watch this video!!!😁♥️
Date the rocks and put location found. I still do this as an adult and its so cool to look at them .
Really enjoyed the sense of discovery in this video
....and now I know where I want to go on my next beach vacation! 😎
Would love to visit that spa. Jackson is so happy with his alien rock. Love to see you having nice days out.
Hi Tim, Jen and Jackson. Just an idea but if you do start a jar for Jackson's rocks, write in pen where they came from and the date. That way he will have fun looking back at them. We have a collection of rocks and pebbles that have been brought back from different places and we write on them what country they are from. Thankyou for all the great videos you put out. We love watching your channel.
My niece used to collect rocks when she was younger. My sister decided to organize them and label where they were collected. She is now grown but has rocks from so many national parks and adventures they went on. She still adds to them and now has rocks from some other countries.
I hope you guys had a great time in New Smyrna beach! That's my hometown so seeing my favorite KZreadrs visit makes these videos 10 times better! Keep up the amazing content Tim and Jenn
On time today loved yesterday's video ❤👌
That is a great idea on the rock, you should mark them with date and place, it will be a great memory.
I am born and raised and still live in Daytona and have literally NEVER been down to Sugar Mill Gardens. What the heck! LOL I have travelled all over Florida and we’re always wanting to go new places and I’ve never been 15mins down the road. Just goes to show you, explore your own backyard!
Love that garden!! I live about 15 mins from there and I did my senior pictures there last week :)
What a great idea about the rock collection
We just moved to the Kissimmee area and recently visited New Smyrna Beach because of you guys! It did not disappoint! 😎
Haha totally nailed the face 😂
You should paint some tracker family rocks to leave out and about on your travels.
Loved this episode. I’m making notes if the various places of interest that you’ve taken us to. My son and his family will be relocating to WDW from DLR ( he works for the Mouse ) and my granddaughters love exploring new areas. Regarding the rocks - take a fine tip marker and on one side of the rock note the date & location of where Jackson found his souvenir rocks.
The best!! Keep it up!
When I was little I would grab rocks and my mom would write the year and where we were when I took it Maybe you can do that with Jackson’s rocks!
What a great place to visit. A nice quiet fun day. Back in the late 70’s on a family vacation we visited Cypress gardens. I remember watching the water ski show which nowadays is becoming extinct also. Hard to find them. They don’t have them in Wisconsin dells any more if I am not mistaken either. I also remember seeing all the colorful birds..
My parents live across the street from Sugar Mill Gardens...❤️ hope you guys had fun!
Love this so much
We are such big fans of you Trackers! Sending love from our channel to yours! ♥️ -H&M
Instead of a glass jar, use a clear plastic mayo jar/container and either use it for a bookend or let Jackson sort the rocks as his collection grows!!
@brianorozco1074
3 жыл бұрын
Because if the glass jar falls then it will break and that would be really bad
You know it's a good and relaxing massage when you leave looking slightly stoned. 😂
It always interests me how stone buildings that mean no need for air conditioning are so unusual for most Americans when nearly everything is built like that in Europe.
Caught u when posted 👌👌👌 I'm glad Jackson is having fun
Save the rocks great idea. Be sure and label place and date. Great keepsake
This is one of my fav places in Florida
I love all your videos, Jackson is so dang cute! Keep keeping on
My boy had a rock collection. We had a box right by the door and he would put his rocks in there before coming in the house. We would also paint the nice rocks with nail polish and put them in our garden
Thanks for the homeschool lessons! Love all your info! And HHN comment 😂
You guys were in my neighborhood where I grew up!! (Port Orange) we just call it the sugar mill gardens :) its a nice little gem for the area! Glad you guys enjoyed it ❤
What a cool, beautiful, and interesting place Bongoland is! Yes, I remember the rest rooms at the beach when I was a kid being fairly cool compared to outside, they were all kept fairly dark, and made out of concrete block. Cool fact about camels being able to eat cactus, Tim. Never hard that, but will definitely remember it! Very cool idea about the painted rocks and the FB page. Oh my gosh - that gnome area is SO cute!! Lunch looked REALLY good. SO cool the FD gave Jackson that hat and frisbee - community relations, at their finest! When I was a id, we used to visit the local FD once a year, during Fire Safety Week, and i always loved it. :) Glad the power came back on the spa looked VERY Zen and relaxing. Socially distanced hugs to the 3 of you from New Jersey! Stay strong, stay positive, stay healthy!!
That’s amazing how you do the punted rocks and we did that in England about 2 years ago 🤩
I am watching from Ottawa Canada and it makes me so excited to see a place other than Disney that I have been to. The Sugar Mill...so fun. We went for breakfast near this area that you made pancakes right at your table and added choices of toppings. We also went and saw Manatees on this day trip.

We have multiple Little Free Libraries in our town, including two within a block of our house, and they are very popular. You can find directions to build one and a map of all the locations online. Whenever I can't find a book I want to read at the public library system, I buy the book, and after I read it, I put it in our neighbor's Little Free Library. The books I put in get borrowed almost immediately because they are basically brand new!
Awesome video, looks like a pretty cool place!!
We live in Fruit Cove Fl and we have stayed in Port Orange many times and went and visited this park!! Neat place. You guys need to try Aunt Catfish in Port Orange!!!
You should write on the rocks where he picked them up from! Cute idea!
In Colombia i went a saw a sugar mill factory and it is so cool how they process it!
Haha got me here fast!! 🤩😉
I found my initals in that wall with all of the initals. Thats awesome
Hi, what a hidden gem, very pretty park, I would totally love that too. I love anything that has to do with Dinos too. Jackson reminds so much of when I was little,My Mom says. I always loved the water and loved picking up rocks. Actually to tell the truth I have a bit of a rock collection that been collected since I was young. If I saw a rock I liked from wherever we were at ,at the time, I kept it. However, rock collecting stoped after High School. 🤔 Anyway, this was very enjoyable thanks. Be Safe Take Care 💜💙💚
Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens is a neat place for sure. We checked it out last year.
We have painted rocks in Germany as well. It is exactly as Tim said, post the location where you found the rock on the Facebook group. I Loved that idea and painted some rocks myself. It is so fun, when someone else finds your rock.
They really nailed the face. I mean for 1930 something that's pretty good artwork I guess!
