We rented a car through Zest.com and got a car from Circular Car Hire. I used zest.com many times and never had any problem so I would recommend them. Regarding the Circular Car Hire, apart of being late for almost an hour, it was ok. The car was basic, clean and kept in good condition and allowed us to travel nearly 3000km. If you plan a road trip in Turkey starting in Istanbul, I would advise renting a car on your last day in Istanbul before going elsewhere rather on arrival. Driving in Istanbul can be difficult and I learned it the hard way! Hope that helps and if you have any other question then let us know :)
