@@trintavonI'm generally not a fan a trigger warnings being present at all in horror fiction because it completely breaks immersion, but I am a huge fan of how you did it. I'm not quite sure it could be executed that way in other mediums so maybe that's just another one of the great things about the SCP Wiki

Man... this has to be one of the more crueler and brutal anomalies out there. That fact that it's happening to a kid, who shouldn't have to endure such trauma not only once, but pretty much infinitely, just amps this up. Also, it's refreshing to show the Foundation in a more human light instead of the usual coldness. They literally tried everything they could to not only save her, but make her more comfortable.

So far we've got- A: Some fanatical monks Æ: Some really REALLY bad traffic B: Some aliens who tried to become immortal but doomed themselves to becoming a mold hivemind C: A real estate agency that flips haunted houses D: A phantom bug infestation E: An eternal paradise afterlife that eventually becomes a boring hell F: A radioactive dream man G: An alternate reality that gets destroyed by a gigantic fatass eating a burger Ȝ: A bunch of people go nuts over some sneezing H: Phantom Illnesses aka "I diagnose you with dead." I: An anesthetic that allows for more successful surgeries, but makes the pain worse J: Some Spaceship Wreckage K: A really weird alternate dimension L: 4 girls that became eldritch gods because someone said that the girls would save humanity M: A really weird moon event N: A predator that lives in the big cities and uses neon lights to lure in human prey O: Weird organ portals that appear within people's bodies Ø:SCP-079 going a bit nuts and creating a supercomputer that is much more powerful than itself Q: I have no clue, but I think it's related to SCP-262 somehow? R: A drug that turns your body into your desired body, with horrible side effects. A girl uses it to try and regain the love of her abusive father. S: When you meet your girlfriend's family, but they're all weird blob monsters made from past versions of herself and her previous "boyfriends." T: A colony of nanomachines from outer space that consume machines and people to absorb information. Ð: A girl dying over and over and the Foundation is powerless to stop it.

Hey hey! Author of the article reporting in, thanks for the amazing reading of my anthology piece! I remember back before I officially joined the wiki I used to listen to your stuff all the time, so it's a bit surreal to actually listen to one of my own pieces being read, especially my darkest one by far. Your dedication to reading all* of the ABCs of Death is admirable and really awesome to see. I'm also quite pleased by your brief interpretation to the end. There is no reason, no comprehending the horror of the situation, and no beating it. Like a terminal illness, Mia's anomaly brings them, and everyone they care about, deeper and deeper despair, until their bittersweet, tragic end. Thanks again for the read, and I hope everyone who sees this comment has a lovely day :)

As someone who really wants to author an SCP or 2, how do you get into it? Also, as the author, theoretical for ya. What would've happened had someone terminated her on any other day? Like, the 25th rolls around and somebody just caps her, does she stay down? Also, couldn't one technically just move around the earth so as to stay on October 23 (just keep hopping time zones) and then just hop onto what's effectively the 25th?

Ð was an old English letter called Eð, it was meant to represent a voice dental fricative. In layman's terms, it made the TH sound in words like the, that, mother and father. It was ultimately abandoned in English after the adoption of the printing press since German and Dutch manufacturers did not produce the letter. However, it is still used today in Icelandic, Faroese and Elfdalian. If you’re wondering the reason they didn’t produce the letter is because German and Dutch lacked dental fricatives.

It is not a competition, but I don't think there is much that can top SCP-231. Trigger warning?? I suggest reading it, but if you're squeamish it involves brutal sexual assault (heavily implied, but not actually stated) of a young girl/woman (age is redacted, but it goes from 1 digit to 2) who is one of seven pregnant daughters of the scarlet king... Well, the other 6 gave birth to increasingly destructive creatures, and the 7th is likely to end the world. They can't sedate the girl either, as the torment is required to prevent birth. Speaking of, they wipe her memories often since she gets kinda used to it... I guess.

As the author of the piece, I will say that, for the sake of brevity, I did not include a log in which they put Mia down before the 24th, but if they had it may have been successful maybe once or twice, but would've likely resulted in traumatic, lasting, but non-lethal wounds in any further attempts, only furthering their suffering up until their birth/death day. The gist of the anomaly is that there is no escaping its cruel grasp no matter how hard you try.

I turn 20 tomorrow, October 24th, 2023. I remember the time I turned 12 perfectly coincided with the worst time of my life. This article so perfectly reflects what it’s like to be traumatized and still have to live with it. You can’t really move on, no matter how far you move away from it, you’ll never to truly be unaffected. I will never get to be the man I could’ve been. You become numb, you’re outlook goes dull, and you can’t even tell what’s keeping you here. But sometimes it gets better, be it’s days, weeks, or even months, time passes and you feeling fine, good even, and then it comes right back. It feels like there’s no escape. Therapy is supposed to be good for you, but I’m so emotionally stunted that I can’t even get started. You can have all the support in the world, the best of the best, but there’s something wrong and there’s nothing it seems anyone else can do. You just live with it, and it gets so hard to keep on doing that. If all is normal, whatever that even means, I should live to be 80, but I don’t know if I want to, or even can, do it 3 more times. I’m just so damn tired. I’m up way later than I want to be, terrified of the future and mortified by the past, and this article and video hit me in such a perfect, indescribable way. Godspeed, Mia

Good story. Immediately after it was made clear that power and backup power would fail, causing catastrophe, if that's what it took to end Mia, I thought to myself, "a place with an on-site nuke should realize at this point that trying to stop the event is a bad idea." Got a kick out of that being the next thing to be used. Certainly doesn't fit with notions of the Foundation we usually have, but I suppose, the right person's conscience, rightly placed, at the right time, I can see it happening.

a few things I am surprised the foundation did NOT try: 1. what if they shot her a day early, would she just die or would she respawn after the 24th? If she died, she'd be out of her misery-if she respawned, she would avoid a painful death leading to the creation of a new protocol. 2. Is the event dependent on the date where she is? why not use some kind of portal technology to send her from somewhere in the UTC-12 timezone, to UTC+13 thereby SKIPPING the 24th entirely (11PM on the 23rd on Baker Island to 12AM on the 25th at Tokulau in New Zealand).

Damnit, there goes my last hope that Mangg was going to do justice to the four unletters. I'm not sure on AE, (/), and whatever the Gesundheit thing is called. But "TH is actually a former English letter, commonly used back in Chaucerian times, and its name is Thorn. So I was really hoping to hear "Thorn is for Thirteen" here.

Thanks for this case The Exploring Series and SCP. Even if one argues that this case is predictable in the sense that the situation for Mia never changes. Similar to how the Final Destination movies are predictable and never change. I still think this case is interesting for how dramatically each situation plays out. This may sound like a cop-out, but at least I was entertained by this case all the same.

The real tragedy here is that a non-dimension accessed via an SRA may not be as nonexistent as the Ethics Committee thinks; Mia may just be going through multiple cycles of what happened to Dr. Robert Scranton, without even Red for company. Sad though this one is, I really liked it. I can immediately see why the anomaly exists, and how to manipulate it for Mia's ultimate benefit, though it still wouldn't be an enviable existence. In essence, she would be a tragic messiah figure, dying not for our sins, but to humble us of any apotheotic ambitions.
