Exploring the Salt Flats of Uyuni Bolivia

Hey Guys, how is it going?
We arrived at our main destination in Bolivia, Uyuni.
To be more precise the salt flats of Uyuni, the largest in the world.
To see them we booked a 3-day tour through the whole desert.
Our first destination was a train graveyard where we could climb around and make some photos.
Next up was a salt production, where they showed us the process of the salt mining and packaging.
And then finally we came to the main attraction the salt flats of Uyuni.
The amount of salt that surrounds you is unbelievable. At some parts the salt reaches a depth of 150 meters.
Of course, we also took some optical illusion pictures, were we had a lot of fun.
It is always nice to see a sunset but it was the first time for me that I saw a moon rice on land with a straight horizon.
After this amazing view, we went to a hostel made out of salt and went to sleep.
The next day we went out of the salt desert and went into a normal one to see some flamingos at different colored lagunes and rock formations.
I have never seen so many flamingos in my life it was beautiful.
In the evening, we went to a hot spring which was super relaxing but on the way back to the hostel it was painful to walk in this cold, we didn’t get warm during the whole night and the heater in the car wasn’t working the next day, we had to depend on the sun to warm us up.
On the 3rd day we saw some chinchillas and a few volcanic geysers which smelled terrible of rotten eggs.
Originally we booked the tour with the return to Uyuni, but when the guide dropped of Luna and Andrew, our tour companions from England at the boarder of Chile and told us that it will be a 6 hour ride back to town and they only need 45 minutes to San Pedro de Atacama, we looked at each other grabbed our backpacks and crossed the border.
That’s all for today.
Thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe and maybe leave a like or a comment.
See ya all next time somewhere on this planet.
