I have many fond memories of playing Mahjong with some men near my hotel in Shenzhen China. I was there for two weeks on business and these older guys just randomly invited me over to chat and before I knew it, they were teaching me to play Mahjong. Easily one of the top travel experiences in my life.

Nice Video. It's great that there is no weird music playing in the background or comic sounds added for special effects. So many channels ruin the video with that sadly.

That's factory has a surprising level of vertical integration for what you would normally consider a fairly niche product. From the looks of it. the only bit they aren't making in house is the electronics and wiring. I was initially surprised by the fact they were making their own motors, but after seeing just how many motors are in each unit, I guess it does make sense. Maybe the market for automatic mahjong tables is bigger than I was thinking..

I have travelled quite a bit in China, and although I have seen a lot of people playing mahjong, the only automatic tables I've ever seen were in the houses of people with a higher income or in the HK mahjong parlors. That was exactly why I was surprised at the scale of the production. @@hanyanglee9018

I’ve seen the game stones around but I never thought it included a table and kept wondering why there were so many assembly processes and the reason for that many gears… Well I got my answer at the end… I think I want one of these now.. The factory, the workers and the final product was amazing. Great Video!!!

I love factory videos. It may be a coincidence, but this video shows the largest, cleanest, and most automated Chinese factory I've ever seen. Even more than a high-tech parts production plant. It's very Chinese.

All of east Asia loves Mahjong. Not just China and Japan, but also Vietnam and South Korea, not to mention the American players (the old ladies who play "Maahj" and the growing Riichi fanbase both love automatic tables).

Are those just test tiles? Why does the final inspection have some blank and some green tiles? I'd expect those to get picked out.

This fully automatic table is not necessarily necessary for all mahjong games. However, traditional hand-loaded mahjong is prone to cheating and is unfair, so if you want to play mahjong with complete fairness, you should buy this fully automatic table or go to a mahjong parlor that has a fully automatic table.
