We start our tour with a glimpse of the charming caretaker's cabin, a cozy log home where the shrine's caretakers reside.
Join us on a peaceful walk out to the island where the chapel is located, surrounded by tall trees, lush greenery, and the calming sounds of nature.
One of the highlights of our trip was hearing and witnessing the whales breaching the surface of the water in the nearby bay.
The Shrine features a Rosary Trail and a Stations of the Cross trail, beautifully integrated within the woodland setting, inviting visitors to reflect and pray in peaceful surroundings.
At the heart of the Shrine is the charming chapel, built in the 1930s, standing as a testament to faith and devotion. This place offers quiet contemplation and spiritual renewal.
Our visit concludes with the statue of St. Therese, lovingly surrounded by vibrant tulips, symbolizing hope and new beginnings.

There is more to see than we captured. When we go again we will make time to visit walk both trials, see the labyrinth and visit the Piata statue. It is surprising how much I learn about these places after the fact. One goal of this channel is to help others avoid missing the good stuff. This was one of the excursion options on our Alaska Cruise. The trip included a visit to Mendenhall Glacier as well. The Chapel is located in Juneau.
