THE CAROLANDO! Fifty years ago, on our honeymoon, Disney resorts were booked, so the travel agent put us there. It was called the Carolando Resort. We still have the map that shows where our room was. About 10 years ago we went there to look around. I don’t remember what it was called then, but there were people working at the front desk and a security guard let us drive around. It’s a shame what has happened to that place since then. Thanks for the video, glad you made it out alive!

50 years ago what Hotels were Available? Just curious as the Reason 17-92 in Osceola Co. became so successful was the fact that Disney could not house all of it's guest on site as it can today. Many of the Hotels were Family run & are now Hotels like the 1 used as the setting for The Florida Project

I actually get anxious when you are in a place like that. With all the druggies and homeless around, I think someone is going to pop out and threaten you. What a huge liability it is for the property owner to allow people to wander around in there. They could be sued for injuries sustained while exploring. Please be safe, Adam.

Super sad - I stayed in this place when I was 8 years old in the 80's with my grandfather on the very first trip I ever took to Florida and Disney World. But of course they're needed when developers are cramming houses so close together with itty-bitty driveways and roads. Theyre row homes not single family. And we're all wondering why there's so much road rage. Disgusting what our commissioners are allowing 😒 💸💰👹

Properties usually always get reused. Personally, when I visit the US, I love the drive from LA to Las Vegas for the same reason. To see all these places where no one ever sets foot anymore. My mom lived in Kenneth City in the late 1990s, near Orlando, for a couple of years before moving back to St. Pete. There's all kinds of interesting stuff left over from old tourism stuff from the 1980s. Central Florida is an urban explorers' ultimate playground.

Very cool video. Reminds of the old school days of your channels. I started watching your channels when you were traveling in your van doing abandoned places. I love everything you have done. The variety of content on your channel is great. Everything from theme parks, roadtrips, abandoned places, etc. I am a huge fan of it all because i am into all those things as well. Very cool. Thanks for another cool video

It was also know as The Orlando Hyatt House in the 70’s and early 80’s… each unit / complex had its own pool area …. I would stay there with the family and take a shuttle bus from the hotel to Walt Disney World …

I live in the area. For years I’ve wondered why such a large footprint of property was never redeveloped. Does anyone know if there’s a reason like possible sinkholes or perhaps something else faulting the property for easy redevelopment? Great video and I personally am appreciative of your wide variety of content, all of it.

What I know it was having problems with bookings and they were spending too much money on maintenance and had low income from guests since the tourism had died down at that time and they had to shut down in 2012 but in 2021 it was bought by a New York company and it was said renovations were gonna be done but it never happened so now it just sits here

Very spooky video! Love seeing abandoned places although I personally would be too scared to traverse in such a place, I love seeing videos and pics. There's a pilot/photographer who's pics I loved named Henk Van Rensbergen who would seek out abandoned places while traveling for work and photograph these creepy and amazing places. Video gives an interesting and different perspective on a abandoned site. Thanks for being brave enough to check it out for us. Please be careful tho! Love BrightSunFilms too!

😮woooow....how sad. Thx for shedding much needed light on Hwy 192. I was there in August n I'm glad to see quite a few of those nasty little motels gone. (192+535 junction specifically). They were such a major draw back in the 50's, well kept family motels....my grands remember staying there n have old pics n they were very very nice. Keep up the great vids !!

Hey WOO: 3 things; yes you should have someone with you or let someone know where you’re headed and hopefully you have a can of pepper spray and a collapsible baton to defend yourself if needs be, maybe incorporate some sprint training into you workouts in case you need to speed out of there, maybe some steel / composite toed boots with thick soles before you step in something that’ll slice through your sneakers. And up-to-date tetanus shot !

I recently watched the bright sun film version of this video I could be mistaken, but I think there was a dark ride in that place. I would be scared to walk around the place especially when those drapes are closed when you heard the dog bark that was scary. I really wouldn’t go to those places by myself but you’re very brave for doing it.

You’re not wearing appropriate heavy duty boots for exploring such a death trap! You could step on a number of sharp objects--tennis shoes --no good --against who knows what! Shards of broken glass - a bomb---dead body --+crazy people were or are inside there.
