I was born in Brampton in 1962. Spent a lot of time as a child in Brampton, visiting my Grandmother. 😀😀

Hi Richard it took me a while to recognise Brampton till I saw the church. There is another Brampton over the border in Westmorland. I still use the original counties not the pro 1974 admin divisions as there are many towns and villages in the Lake District area with the same name but in different counties before 1974 such as Troutbeck and Bowness. About a couple of miles from Brampton is Lanercost Abbey worth seeing.

A jolly introductory documentary on Brampton. Looks like a lovely town. I love exploring the back streets, back alleys and tiny yards in such places.

Funnily enough I drove through Alton one way system on Tuesday! Must go back and film!

Makes you appreciate your town when you see it through someone else's eyes you forget how pretty and unique it is when you have lived here most your life also Its actually moot hall wish the clock was right on it its always fast or slow

They're called snicketts and ginnels or alleyways as you'd know them down South.

4.10 Hadrian....great little video of Brampton..now those metal stocks ive not seen before here they tend to be wooden construct very interesting especially that it has a shelter .here in Wiltshire they would just get wet if when it rains

Yes, it turned out there was a rally finishing in the town on the Saturday evening!

Lovely town Brampton, I passed through travelling from Alston then long town on way to holiday caravan I had in Dumfries.. Shame the council like many haven’t got the gumption to build with sympathy to the surroundings.

I agree Kenneth. It surely wouldn't have taken much to dress the exterior of their building the same as the rest of the town. I shall be back in Cumbria later in the year!

I have never actually searched for my home town on YT even though i am a avid viewer, interesting to see what other people think.

Cumberland sausage says just how laid back they are up there! Don’t bother with links,just leave it as it comes! Then when your asked how many sausages do you want in your bun? Oh just the one will do!! Clever thinking that!!!
