Exploring the Make Noise Strega with Alessandro Cortini
Ойын-сауық
Make Noise and Alessandro Cortini have been teasing their collaboration over the past few weeks, and it's finally here: the Strega. As you might expect from such a pairing, it's an experimental unit (learn more on Reverb: bit.ly/3d47Up5). Watch along as Cortini dives into three different applications and shows off the myriad of sounds and capabilities of Strega (shop Strega on Reverb: bit.ly/3d05rfy).

The nature example blew my mind. Imagine doing that with some headphones while tripping :)
😮😮😮 I have no words for this. Still processing the possibilities. 🙏 Alessandro and the Make Noise team.
The way he turned a simple arpeggio into a Boards of Canada instrumental had me like 🤯

Actually all the examples in this video could be interludes on Tomorrow's Harvest 😅
Scrimped and saved, and just ordered my Strega tonight! Thank you, Alessandro! What an amazing little machine...I can’t wait to get my hands on it! It’s gonna pair nicely with my 0 Coast, and I have a feeling it’s going to be featured in a lot of my upcoming music/soundscapes!
best demo thus far!
I know it may not be everybody's cup of tea, but part of the fun for me, was figuring out what the symbols represent, how they effect the sound, without knowing exactly what they mean. And not always knowing exactly what to expect, keeps it interesting, to experiment with. Patching without cables, is a nice live performance touch too. I'm finding it fun, to run my FM drum machines through it. I'm enjoying mine quite a bit.
the first synth part and the last layered guitar parts are jaw dropping.
Start a Podcast Alessandro! i could listen to you talk about music all day lol

Wow, that is a nice piece of gear. Kudos to the developers.
Ya pre ordené el mio 🤘
Thanks to my bonus from my job, I was able to secure one from Detroit Modular! 👍
He better use that last part with the 3 layered guitar manipulations as the basis for a new NIN song...it’s perfect

That first guitar part sounded like the intro to "Simply the Best"!
5:19 the backround music that play when the detective has a lead on a missing person hidden in a shipping container of the dock. A swat team meticulously sweeps the surounding area leading up to the shipping container. The lead field SWAT captain giving sign language for the move in on the storage container checking for an IED on the lock, crack the lock open the container and it almost empty except theres a small wooden handmade box. The box is examined, opened and all that in it is a sample of the missing girls hair. The lead detectives is also told this over the radio of evidence found but no body. In disappointment the detective throws the radio at the wall. The detective is played by mark Wahlberg in the Movie, The Wisper Man. Background music by Make noise Strega IN THE THEATERS AUG 2022.

Che figata la strega dell'appennino:) Questi trombini della make noise sono veramente degli animaletti fantastici. i wanna catch em all :)
so the filter can only be used as part of the delay circuit?
Can anyone determine the where all the cables are going in the transcending ambient patch? 1.45? I can quite make out the all routes.

Just shut up and take my money. I've seen cortini live four times, and every time I wanted a magic wand to capture his sound. This may be my best shot!!!
Oooh, that UV77MC! NICE!

He's got some nice custom shop Ibanezes as well. 😎
How do you record from the strega synthesizer if the guitar is plugged in? I can only see the headphone output involved?
man... that opening sequence on its own... sounds amazing however i have my doubts. i think if i used the thing it would just sound like chaotic garbage. i think its mr cortinis extreme knowledge of the field and his beautiful language of music. so characteristic, deep and beautiful.
I can't even begin to comprehend what this thing is doing.

What’s with all the cryptic symbols? Even a Buchla is easier to read, or does this come with it’s own proprietary symbol language.

Make Nosie is right. And lots of it. No thanks. I can do the vast majority of what Strega does with other modules and effects that I already own, so there isn't much motivation for me to throw down $600 for this thing.
