The quick shifter is only recommended to be used outside of 1st. 2-6, 6-2 no issue. Use the clutch when first is involved. I have it on my Duke so naturally it's identical.

I will definitely be following your adventure. I am in the same boat, trying to pick a bike that can do highway, but is better off-road. I really wanted a dr200 but don't think its safe for the highway, been looking at f650gs or vstroms. With the same goal of doing the adventure back country routes!

@@FewMoto just looked up pictures that does look pretty cool. I've looked into tenere 700 too. Even versys 300x. I'm open to anything, just waiting for a good deal.

I also had the 2020, the one I have now is the 2022, both are awesome.

"If you rode this bike and didn't like the engine, you don't know how to ride it" --- Adv Matt. It's a single -- you need to keep it up around 6K. It's only underpowered if you weigh 300+ pounds.
ill stick to my DRZ cheaper and better
