Wow, Barrie Cadogan at the end, great musician.

After more than 2 years of abstinence, I went to the Music Station again and played 3 Fender American Professional II Strats, and again I noticed that the woods had little vibrancy, the maple necks were not very dense and responsive, there was little twang, little crunch , wiry-glassy, few overtones, sustain, attack, everything you associate with Fender guitars, everything is less than on my ESP 400 Series Strats and less than on my BLADE Texas models. This can be tested objectively and I can only say that I am extremely disappointed with this price-performance ratio. No, I can no longer objectively understand this adulation regarding Fender Strats. My first Stratocaster was a Fender American Standard Stratocaster and that was my worst guitar of all, a Fender Mexico Standard followed after that, but after I played the ESPs and the BLADEs everything was clear to me, and that proves itself again, every time, when I compare, the same result always comes out - what else can I say, it is true! The ESP-400-Series Strats and the BLADEs have objectively, noticeably and audibly better tonewood, the BLADEs even have a flattened neck-body-joint and covered fret slots and therefore much better playability!!! So, I'm done with Fender, I'm playing something clever, and at a much cheaper price. I don't want to talk anyone out of their love of Fender, I have nothing against you buying the (usually) worse guitars for a far too exorbitant price, you're welcome to do that. Then there will be more BLADEs for me, very simple! Thanks for listening!

Mystic surf green has to be one of the most beautiful finishes of all time
I somehow got one of these Am pro 2 models in faded sonic blue. Apparently they are limited to one guitar shop in the country. I’ve never seen such a beautiful Strat in my life
That double tap humbucker is nice. Hot classic sound without the feedback and doesn't lose volume when it's tapped. Much better sounding then Duncan JB and clearly more versatile

I've done something for a few years. When I can, I've asked people to draw what comes into their head when I say electric guitar. About eight in ten try to draw a Strat.
I bought the black strat with maple fretboard and it plays so good. Best set up Fender has ever done on any of there guitars I bought previously. They are pricey however, they just play so easily.

Jabo sounds great! Definitely gonna check out more of him!
The Dark Night color is just awesome, probably the prettiest color I've ever seen on a Strat. 😍 I wish the player in the video had positioned it without the glare seen in the majority of the clip (2:04) but an in-person audition can fix that 😎
My Fender American Pro ll came with some extras. Like extra work for me to fix the 6 high frets and bad fret sprout on a $1699 guitar. If you buy any Fender guitar it will likely need a fret job straight out of the box you can almost guarantee. That means the average person will have to shell out another $400 to fix it. The pickups are fantastic but in no way shape or form is this guitar worth what you'll pay brand new for it. I'm not the only one who feels this way and I can put together a Strat from a $100 kit that will rival these guitars in feel and playability. Fender, you're a legendary American company, do the brand some justice and make something worth it to the consumer.
I love the clear Stratocaster tones🥰The American Professional II Stratocaster is beautiful👍
Sounds like perfection, as does the Jazzmaster, and that tone master twin is unbelievable. Need all the fenders and want all the fenders now please!

Just picked mine up and I haven’t put it down since I got it. I got mine in Sienna Sunburst with a HSS configuration. It’s a perfect instrument. I’m more happier with that than my Les Paul Standard and I spent nearly double on that.

See how they’ve pushed the treble settings on the amp to compensate for what I consider to be lifeless pickups. Went to the store cash in hand fully intent on purchasing. Really wanted to like it but no sparkle or shine. Sounded blanketed to my ears. Dang! Been playing pro 35 plus years.

Great guitars but not crazy about the colors- Why a tortoise pickguard on a Sunbust Maple Neck Strat? I also noticed that Fender doesn't have any Red Strats in the line. Please bring back all satin Maple necks too . They have a great feel to them.

They are ghost harmonics or picking hand harmonics specifically. I think there are several terms for it and who knows which is correct. Picking hand has to cover a harmonic capable fret relative to the fretting hand's position, but the picking hand's thumb has to strike the string behind it (bridge side). Pretty advanced stuff and not easy to just throw it in, but it sounds awesome with a lot of practice.

I agree, but consider that Gibson has better sustain. Still fenders are more versatile and have wider range. And cooler colors
It is totally praisable that Fender puts more and more female guitarists to the front so that elektric guitars are not just a male domain.
If I did not already have a Eric Johnson strat I would difinitely check one of these out. Being able to play just neck and bridge is cool. Although my tele does that pretty well

Hello, I have subscribed to your channel, I really like your content, I am looking for inspiration for my videos... Keep it up!!!
I did not connect with this guitar. I did not like the tall thin frets. The deep C neck profile was just slightly too thick for me to play with thumb over the top. I found the pickups to have too much of the mids they say the V mod 2 enhances making them sound a bit shrill against the tall thin frets. Overall a nice quality guitar, but it was not for me or my dwarf hands.

Na you're tripping. Pickups are amazing, frets are perfect and the neck isn't even close to bein thick..? my 59 reiussue les paul has a thick ass neck, the c shape fenders have is comfortable. anyone who complains about small hands being an issue is either brand new to guitar, a child or you just suck
So 1500$ for a Strat with no locking tuners and a poly finish, what a rip off.

Funny, you talk about 2 things completely unrelated to sound or playability of the guitar which is its biggest change from previous model.
Better colors than the first American Professional series, I've got a little buyer's remorse since I just bought my American Professional Strat about a year ago. It also sounds like the pickups are a bit more mellow than the first vmod pickups. The neck in particular sounds like it has some high end rolled back.
Will there be a hardtail version?

What is up with using cheap pine wood for a Strat. Alder or Swamp Ash only thank you. It's too bright and it lacks a meaty sound. Very thin. PRS Silver Sky sounds more like a real Strat than this piece of garbage.
