Born and raised in Florissant (MO). This was my mall growing up, we lived about 5 miles away. i went there for 20 years. A few clarifications. you went in through the old Dilliards (well, go way back and it was Stix Baer and Fuller (actaully just Stix in St Louis)). The floor with the furniture was the 2nd floor. Only the department stores had multiple floors. the rest of the mall itself was one story. Fascinates me they left the inventory to rot. Originally a one axis mall with Dilliards at one end and Sears at the other. you didnt seem to make it to the sears. the food court and the two offshoot department stores behind it were a last gasp expansion by the mall in the early 2000s. one was a Macy's, the other I cant remember. i remember going there in about 2009 or so when the sears wing and the food court, Macys, etc. were still open but the Dilliards wing was already blocked off. i saw MANY movies in that theatre, which was Wehrenberg, a St Louis classic chain. youtube their theme song. anyway, last movie i saw there was Lord of the Rings, Return of the King in about 2004. the mall was never really busy. it was built speculatively on development in far north county that never came. not a surprise to see this demise. although i basically grew up there im not actually sad to see it like this. time moves on. the most thrilling moment for me seeing this?? watching that ivy that used to be so neatly clipped spreading across the floor. i remember that ivy. it was very prickly. fucking amazing its surviving and thriving in a wide open to the elements building in st louis area. nature does know how to rebuild itself. great walkthrough guys.

Nice to get some insight from someone who actually got to see this mall in its prime and through to its demise. Can't believe the ivy is still going strong myself either! Thanks for the input and the support!

Currently working on a project documenting as much of the mall as I possibly can before it’s demolished. Currently I’ve covered the entire exterior, but I need to get to covering the inside. Any tips for entrance? Or perhaps a store you would recommend entering from?

How sick did you guys get? Sitting in those theater seats was not a good idea they were covered in mold, most of that theater area was no black walls via paint that was black via mold.
