Exploring South America's Most Extraordinary Architecture | Show Me Where You Live Marathon
Phillipe is interested in how architecture can provide a glimpse into how people live all around the world. He travels to some of the most unique spots and culture on the planet to see what they have to offer. Starting off in Bolivia’s Chipaya territory, he visits the indigenous community that survives off the shores of an old salt lake, thanks to a remarkable water management and architecture system that is adapted to the arid climate before making his way to Chile’s Chiloé Archipelago, and Lake Titicaca and Iquitos in Peru. He then heads to some of the more popular spots in the south, from the favelas in Rio, to Havana and finally Louisiana in the United States.

I'm glad to see the solidarity in the form of "minga" . In the Northeastern Aurès region of Algeria we called Twiza , people help each other in times of needs : harvest crops, build or repair a house, fix , a road, .... This tradition keeps the community a solid unit, whose members look after each other.
This is the beauty of life....simplicity , freedom, connection with nature and community , finding the happiness in small things.... As I am becoming older , I realize the value and importance of happiness in totally different way ......perhaps in some other life. Thank you for such beautiful documentary !!!!!Looking forward to see them all!!!! My best wishes.❤
I would like to live in a community where people help like that. What a blessing!
when i was 5 or six i would build bridges over streams made from rushes it was my secret activity i loved seeing thus

Nice use of sticks... Amazing content keep up the good work, thanks.
I lived in a typical brick ranch house in the US but now live in a modern concrete home in Mexico. I look forward to the day when I own a little piece of land here in Mexico and can build my own home using natural materials in the campo. My plan is to be an adobe/cob house that's totally self sufficient and off grid

Yes - The Mingas sound like the dream future to me ... Let's cross fingers, brothers :))
Where do the people of the palafitas house (fishermen's house) above the water go to the bathroom?

… In our lowliness He remembered us, for His kindness endures for ever; ( Psalm 136: 23).
I think Chile chilote is where they got the idea for Up the movie. Respect and honor to the homes.

gracias por compartir I'm a white guy well into my 60's now, having grown up with privilege in Los Angeles. i am exceedingly grateful that I am able to giveback now, where i can..... Ever since a young boy, I figured the favelas had the premium spaces over Rio- BY FAR
Does anyone know how old these documentaries are ?

I hope the water where they live does not rise as their houses could be flooded.
For the FAVELAS .... they don't own the land... She has money to renovate her house. So it is a free for all, second they don't pay for electricity and cable. Providencia has a dark side , they did not wanted to show that side. They have the best view in the Favelas.

Your docus highlights exactly why merica operates the way it does. So there is no community.... Which is intergral to survival

Colonialism was/is the biggest problem. Return the stolen wealth and remove the interference by those taking advantage by funding corruption and they might flourish. Not to mention the wars.
