Part 2 of fishing the Outer Banks we took Brett Barley's Jon Boat to remote waters in the Outer Banks where we didn't see a single person fishing near us all day. We got into some of the most epic fishing action for Speckled Trout and Redfish, but the scenery was absolutely beautiful. This area was so remote that the water was super clear and beautiful.
We did more Jon Boat fishing in the Outer Banks and caught more giant speckled trout and redfish. We used the Slick Lure and the cool thing you can fish it weedless. I love this lure because it brings me back to Bass Fishing as a kid and it's similar to finesse fishing like a Texas Rig Soft plastic. Oh, I also like it because it only catches giant fish.
Shout out to Brett Barley for taking us out. Ya'll have to check out his channel if you haven't!

    Great catch and cook guys. Just a little tip for you when scaling a fish in the clean kitchen try filling the sink up with water and scale the fish under water. It keeps the scales from flying onto all of your clean surfaces including other food that may be cooking. Would love to see you add that to a video.

    Also grew up as a bass fishing. Lived down in the Outer Banks for 10 years and still have a house. Just started trout fishing last spring and now I'm hooked. I just spent 5 weeks down there, every morning at little Bridge. So cool to absorb the knowledge from the locals, but watch you guys got to do with Brett was amazing. Been watching you guys since I started this and I appreciate you sharing all of your knowledge and enjoy watching you guys hook up like that. This was a special trip, as I also follow Brett because I am a surfer as well. Great video and great guide service by Brett. Love that guy and everything he stands for. Cheers to all three of you!

    @@johnnieyoung6497 not many public boat ramps... You got Oregon Inlet fishing center, then the next one south is Scotch Bonnet in Frisco, then nothing till Hatteras. I've found a handful of spots to launch the Jon boat sound side, but you need 4WD and a driving pass, and to launch at a time when there aren't people already on the access, or you can't turn th trailer around. haha it's a task but doable!

    @@1fish2fish10 can I get some tips and pointers on top water techniques. I Ben trying it for a few years now and I just can not seem to walk the dog. I can is I swing the rod from side to side but it goes way to fast. Could it be because I'm using a spinning rod. I fish opposite handed and every time I switch the rod while holding the reel the slack leaves the line. Any words of wisdom or video will be much appreciated. Always love the videos. Yall be killing it.

  • @willcartwright8745

    @willcartwright8745

    3 жыл бұрын

    Not speaking for him, but I assume it's because the larger ones have a better chance of breeding, and of course you want the tiny ones to grow to eating/breeding size. Pretty sure you could only keep one per person years ago, and there was like a 5 or 6 inch window of keeper size. Rock fish used to be way worse, minimum size was 25in in the ocean, you could only keep 2, and you were only allowed to keep on certain days lol. I think it was Sunday, Wednesday and Friday or Saturday (3-4 days a week). And if you got caught on the wrong day or with a fish too small, they give a 500 dollar ticket...per fish.

    If you take your thumb nail along that blood vein along the spine you can remove a lot of that left over blood. It works for many species and makes a difference on fishy taste. Try it sometime you can not be disappointed.
