Exploring Port Macquarie

Exploring Port Macquarie, the end of our Northern NSW Road Trip of 202. In this Video explore Port Macquarie with dear Friends who live between the Blue Mountains and Port Macquarie.
With Steve behind the wheel, we are introduced to some beautiful beaches, quaint hamlets, great views and the fun painted rocks on the Breakwall in town.
Starting our day we took in the the town beach from above and in the distant saw dolphins bopping in the water. From there we headed south to Flynns Beach just a few minutes out of town where we got our first glimpse of the beaches in the area upclose.
Shelley Beach was next and part from being a spectacular place to spend the day, we learnt about the beaches famous squatter and unofficial Mayor Harry Thompson., for over 30 years he cared for and enhanced the beach and was given great honour and was loved by all.
Before Lunch we visited Tacking Point Lighthouse a lighthouse the sit humbly on it point. With easy access from there to light house beach you are able to enjoy so much coast line in one stop.
The sandbar cafe is this great restaurant in North Haven, we enjoy sitting outside, great company and really good food.
North Brother lookout is a great place to get great perspectives over the camden river and Crowdy Bay.
Our last stop on our day was back in town to walk the breakwall and explore the town green.
On our return we watched the sunset on a wonderful visit with beautiful friends, again we want to thank Steve and Erika for their amazing hospitality and friendship.
We have only shown you a very small sample of things to do in the region, so do yourself a favour and book sometime in Port Macquarie.

You ended this road trip on a real high- what a great place to visit. While in a spring dip weather wise I've loved enjoying the beach walk and the sound of lapping waves. I'm a beach walker myself and love getting my feet wet. Great capture of the crab by the way. Loved the cute lighthouse. Yum lunch by the looks. People helping people- just so love that. Great effort from Erica and Steve. Loved the graffiti rocks. We would be lost as a country without our car ferries. So many rivers to cross. Beautiful sunset. 💖 🙏 🤩 🇳🇿 🙋‍♀️ 🇳🇱

Shelley Beach looked beautiful and the story path was very interesting. Definitely a different lighthouse than we've seen on our travels. Hi Sarah, thanks for watching and I did enjoy Shelley Beach, I thought I had more footage of the path, but I must have imagined it 🙄It was a stout little house, but it seemed to do the job :) I thought the lovely river was a great name for the river :) We did a have beautiful time with our friends, I know I thought it was a pretty beautiful sunset as well.

Wow that water is so clear! I love visiting beaches - local and when I'm away. Looks like there are some nice sandy areas to wade into. I also love visiting lighthouses as they usually have some great views - and this one didn't disappoint. North Brother Lookout had fantastic views too. Overall looks like you guys had a great day exploring and sightseeing.

There is a walk that goes from Port along the coast to Tacking Point Lighthouse that I plan to do when I drive through in around 10 weeks time. Great view from North Brother Mountain. I did the walk from the base to the top. Hard walk. Port Mac is one of my favourite places to go.

Hi Guys, Thanks for watching. The beach are lovely and I hope you guys will get a beach break soon. The guys at 9:23 looked like they where practicing doing the Hakka (New Zealand war cry), but who knows, was a bit of extra entertainment. Apparently, looks like we will have to go back another time to if we can get a better sunset.
