As I got off the Metropolitan Line at Watford tonight, I saw a pair of gloves lying on the ground just outside the station... I thought "Oh, look... G-Loves-Trains!"

I live in Llandudno, I love the trains here ❤

My partner and I are still together, after meeting on a DMU at Pont a Pant station, 50 years ago this month. We were going on a mountaincraft holiday with the YHA.

As a kid I'd get the train from Llandudno Junction to Blaenau once a fortnight to visit my grandmother, I always loved going through the tunnel and would get to sit in the cab as my Dad was a fireman on the steam trains then train driver on the Conwy valley line for 49 years, I still have fond memories of sitting in the staff canteen at the 6G sheds that used to be at Junction having a cup of tea with all the staff, the sheds were there for about 100 years before being shut down and cleared in 2000, there's an excellent website called 6gshed with loads of old photo's spanning the life of the sheds, what a lovely video to watch this was, so lovely to see such enthusiasm for the railways!

Again, Wales stuns throughout. Always loving watching your videos my love xx

Wow! What picturesque stations! Very lively video!!

Buoys also used to mark underwater obstructions and to show the navigable channels. Plus fishermen will use them to mark where their crab/lobster pots are.

Great Video as always "G". Some of my family lived in the area. My Great Uncle (who I obviously never knew) moved to Conwy in 1894 as a telegraphist and married a lady from near Penmaenmawr. After having two youngsters she died and he moved back to England, Fast forward a few years and he moved back to the area with a new bride - Gertrude. He died and left Gertrude a widow living in Deganwy. Fast forward again to 1952 and my 17 year old dad was staying at Aunty Gertie's on holiday whe nhe heard a huge bang coming across the water. He had just heard the "Irish Mail" crash in Penmaenmawr when the Up Irish Mail from Holyhead to Euston ran into a light locomotive which shouldn't have been signalled. Later that afternoon my dad told me he saw the badly damaged engine get hauled into the shed yard at Llandudno Junction shed. . .

Another brilliant video. The result of lots of time, skill and patience to create each one. Good humour aplenty. The road in Llandudno station... the station roof used to extend almost the full length of the platforms, the road beneath it would have been undercover, it was used by Royal Mail vans picking up and dropping off railbourne post, plus service vehicles. Other stations had them for the same purpose,, such as between Platform 10 and 11 at Manchester Piccadilly. In years gone by the roadway at Landudno would probably have been used by well off people's horse drawn carriages meeting them and dropping them off alongside a train. The long platforms at Deganwy were to accommodate long loco hauled trains that called there, this was the case well into the 1980s. Best wishes, Andy

Diolch, G. I really enjoy your train vlogs here in Minnesota. I travelled that Conwy line in 1975 on my first visit to Wales. The station at Betws y Coed was much smaller then. I've been back to Wales 10 times since enduring the LONG bus rides from Bangor to Swansea. Hopefully, there will be trains on that route someday again.

When my brother in law’s dad got a boat he tied a buoy to an old engine block from a scrappie and threw it overboard. He used that to moor his boat out in the loch.

Great Video, Keep Up The Good Work. The Road In The Middle Of The Station At Llandudno Is Actualy A Old Road That Was Used Back In The Old BR Days By Taxis. Im Not Sure Weather Motorail Was A Option There.

Brilliant video! Brought back a lot of lovely memories about various holidays in North Wales as a kid especially Llandudno and Betws-y-Coed.

Another excellent video. Nearly 15 mins of escapism from the joys of travelling to work whilst I watch it. Your videos are like being there with you. Captivating, inspiring and fun. Buoys have two funcions, as you discovered for mooring boats to. They are also used as navigation markers, highlighting navigation channels, under water obstructions etc. Obviously your get as much joy from making your videos as we do watching them. That, G, was absolutely stunning, the stations were scenic, never mind the surroundings, hope you coped alright in that tunnel, hope your camera has suffered no major damage (you do seem to have issues with your cameras 😉😉), trying to switch off the camera though the shelters glass/plastic was priceless but that's what can happen when you are up at 4:30. Love the countryside walks, these were exceptional. Once again you have provided us with a fun, informative vlog in your inimitable style. Looking forward to the next one. Stay safe

Llandudno was one of my favorite places when i was little, we stayed in a flatlet imbedded in the Great Orme's Head , all up hill to the flat but down hill to the town, It has two Beaches the pebble one were you were, and a sandy one the other side of Llandudno, i think that was the first time we visited Blaenau Ffestiniog, to Porthmadog to see the slate mines , Enjoying This Vlog G, them Knickers look like they have seen better days lol, thanks G

I think your next series after exploring North Wales by train should be exploring the North East by train.

Ah yes and if at Blaneau F, one transfers to the Ffestiniog Railway, do visit on that n/gauge line both Portmadog and via the small halt just before that (and called Minffordd), the world famous Prisoner Village of Portmeirion..!!

You’ve changed Ms G. There was a time when you wouldn’t look at Buoys. Wonderful tales of whales, wails and rails. For a long time I had the word gauge being like gauze, gorge, George and forge. Since I accidentally found out it’s like cage, beige, wage, rage and stage(coaches)- I know different but rather like the way you said it. I will have to try the Gorgeous Gorge way again. Final observation of the review is that the knickers look like they’ve been used to tether a wild Tiger to a tree. Very much the wrong side of coming apart young lady. Just sayin’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

That was gloriously brilliant. I love that part of the world. Been to Betws so many times, been in the railway museum often and on the fab miniature railway, have so many tickets as souvenirs. There is a little tram there the children can drive and my daughter used to love it. Also been on the narrow gauge Ffestiniog. Really fantastic. My kids and I used to do the forest walk at Betws and play in the river. By the way, due to your orientation I am not too surprised that you don't know what a boy is for! I know, its a crappy, cheap joke but I could not help myself. Look forward to your next film G!

The road in the middle of Llandudno used to be a taxi rank as the front of the station used to be all open for vehicles. Also Llandudno station used to be much bigger then it is now. This is a fantastic series you’ve done. I’ve travelled all over North wales by train quite a few times. Keep your channel going as it’s brilliant.

im 40 years old, i spent most of my childhood summer holidays at rhyl(which has or at least had a harbour) and i've never really thought about what a buoy is for so you're not alone on that front

Great video G. I have been to Betws Y Coed before and been to the railway museum as well. It's a good place to visit if you have time. I have also been to Beddgelert as well which is also good to visit. Looks like you had fun.

Fairly sure that the hotel in Llandudno that you mentioned used to be a Butlins hotel many years ago

This certainly is a route of beautiful scenery and flowing water. If you ever have a whole day in Llandudno you can ride the tramway or cable car to the top of the Great Orme, which has stunning views on a clear day

Thanks for sharing the latest stage of your trip around North Wales! I've just got back from six weeks visiting the UK, and inspired by your channel, last week my wife and I went to Llandudno for the day by train from Hoylake on the Wirral line, via the Borderlands line. What a great ride! We were tempted to go down to Blaenau Ffestiniog, but went up the Great Orme instead. Got to ride on my first ever 175 on the way back too!

Well that was lively. Roman Bridge eh, now you're one of the few in that illustrious book of passengers. A great route, a great song and the buoys are mooring buoys as opposed to navigation buoys that mark a channel. Thanks for the video.

2:58 that used to be the car park right there on the platform. You used to drive through what's now the main concourse area and park up on the platforms. It was removed about a decade ago now.

I hope that Transport for Wales does keep the Class 175 Coradia as they would be useful for the routes in North Wales. I’m fascinated with your Welsh language and humour. As always “Squishy Babies”. 😆

The tunnel at ffestiniog is the longest rail tunnel in the country at just over 2 miles long. The Conwy valley line has to be one of the most beautiful lines in the country.

What an enjoyable vlog - hope you didn’t get too hot! That looks like an amazing railway line to visit - somewhere for me to take a look at some point!

The reason there was a 175 terminating at junction, is that for the most part, The services to Llandudno are just a shuttle from junction, or that was the case, until they reinstated the services from Manchester recently. Also, the reason those platforms are super long, because back until the 2010s or so, VT ran services to Llandudno on summer weekends, which stopped at Deganwy.

Some of my favourite stations in Wales in this video. I've tried the carriage cafe myself and it's really nice!

Oh buoy! Another fun video - Llandudno and Betws-y-coed look lovely. On the rough hotels front, it is a guilty pleasure watching review videos, isn't it? Ever heard of the Norbreck Castle in Blackpool as it features in a few? And yes, I've stayed in it!

The tunnel is Ffestiniog tunnel, just over two miles long, with a speed of 30mph it certainly takes a while to get through! Also I think you probably are allowed on the grassy bit at Betws-y-Coed, even if trains don’t use it!

awesome vlog its amazing to see Llandudno again as i did a day trip there in 2019 when i was on holiday in Rhyl Llandudno is a lovely seaside town the main street reminded me of Southport and i highly recommend a trip up to Great Orme on the tram and Cable car also im loving all the pretty station on this line and if i go to North Wales again i def need to have a go on this line all the places look very pretty anyway keep up the awesome work

Buoy's are also used to signal crab pots & sand banks, the road in the middle of Llandudno station used to be 2 more lines they just filled them in

Great video again Georgia keeps bringing back great memories love watching them i wonder if there was a roof over the road at one time, Llandudno is great XX 😊✅✅

There use to be a line from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Bala. I live in a nearby village called Trawsfynydd, the line stopped next to the power station and I recommend you to check out the old line. It's across the road from the road to the power station.

It was the original station design of Llandudno so Horse can Carriage to the car could enter the platform, my gosh you sound posh when say Gauge lol Great Video and looking forward to the future video of the Ffestiniog Railway, there also the Welsh Highland Railway as well at Porthmadog which goes to Caernarfon (then a bus to Bangor... if that bus still runs) Also once you could get a loco haul train, Class 67 with MK3 coaches and a DVT to Llandudno, remember catching it at Deganwy once.

Very interesting vlog G ive been along this line a couple of times ive also been on the narrow gauge line its very nice hope you enjoy it one day. The only problem with this line is it suffers from flooding and seems to spend lots of time shut nice to see the knickers song❤❤❤❤and the benches still waiting for a G bench😂best wishes with your future travels 🌞🌞🚂🚂
