ain't they just the best? They always show up exactly where you don't want them and this time it was like all of westland's paries wanted to play a joke on us :)

it was a really cool find. Funny, I used to hate the squawking and seemingly deliberate antagonizing they do but have come to love that they are on the rivers - so many times now after severe floods that when their nests are wiped up the fish are usually swept out to main stems too, so it's good to have them about :)

Love the casting ,could watch it all day And yes this NZ for sure

Ah, we'll be honing our channel to more of this style of video and into more of what we love and are passionate about in the coming month or so and then only focusing on the love of the art of the rod and camera. :)

glad you enjoyed this one - always tie our own flies. there are exceptions if people give us a couple of flies to use but we always wind up using our flies. :)

Do you find the trout here in New Zealand more challenging ? More than other countries you fish. Also have you fished the Hydro canals in the Mckenzie Country ?..

All told I'd say that the browns in NZ and here in Alberta, Canada, for example, are all about the same, really. If there has been pressure or if the summers and drought carry on, the fish get fed up with us. Otherwise, a feeding brown will only tolerate so much - and waters that are tannic or in current or on cloudy days universally have much more tolerance than clear or bright conditions no matter where we go. The caveat is Chile... the browns there are about as tough to catch as back country cutthroat trout are here. :)
