Unpopular opinion but this is the best MCR release imo, even over Black Parade. Mostly because it is the most emo of all the MCR albums. It definitely takes influence from old school emocore bands like Rites of Spring and Embrace

An underrated and under-explored era, considering how much it informed what came later for the band. 'Headfirst for Halos' has remained a fave, even if I'm less of a rabid MCR fan than I once was. Also, they toured with A7X during this time and verrry early on in the Revenge era, and that still tickles the hell out of my brain. People forget how closely those two acts once associated!

Warped Tour 2005 was insane, it was right when MCR, A7X, and FOB were starting to blow up. I remember seeing one of Fuse’s Warped shows on tv and Girard said something like “I’ve never seen a band tour with weight benches before them” in response to a question about their relationship with Avenged. Man, those were such fun days as a teenager that loved the scene.

I'm really happy to hear someone talk about how Frank and Ray being in the band really helped create the sound... I feel like a lot of mychem fans like all the members but don't actually view every single member as artistic. A lot of people kind of just right off Gerard as the only musical genius. sidenote I know Brian is treated like Voldemort but I firmly believe danger days would have a much better album if he was still in the band. it saddens me that he didn't join another band. insanely talented. Also if given the chance I firmly believe ray toro could pull a Dave from nirvana and have success like the foo fighters if he had the confidence in himself and put the right band together.

drowning lessons is one of mcr’s most emotional, uniquely written, and coolest sounding songs tbh. the main guitar riff is so unique and difficult to play, and it has a such a playfully dark cadence, which almost makes the song sound happy. the bass is also so dark and bouncy, allowing it to cut through the higher end guitar riffs. the vocals sound so raw and emotional without requiring and screams or distorted vocal technique. and that outro too, it sounds like the end screen in a perma death survival horror game on the god damn playstation 2

Early sunsets is still one of my favorite mcr songs to this day. I remember when this album dropped. Local music shop had a copy and I picked it up because the band name was interesting. There's actually another disk that came with a bunch of other songs from bands that were signs by eyeball at the time. There are some great bangers on that extra disk that I never hear people talk about anymore. Specifically a song called satellite by kiss Kiss. Also if you still have a physical copy and haven't read the legendary thank you section do yourself a favor. Gerard had some funny lines in his section. Anyways I still have my original cd but lost the bonus disk long ago 🙃

30:24 The thing with physical copies of bullets is that the vinyl has been re-issued but not the cd, if i'm not mistaken, eyeball records still has the rights to the cd for some reason and haven't re-issued this format, so they've become extreamly rare and go up to like 70 bucks, but warner has the rights to the vinyl format so you can buy it at any record store for like 20 bucks. I'm not sure how that works but it's something along those lines, me as a latin american MCR fan have been trying years to find a cd copy of bullets at a reasonable price lmao

This was a trip down memory lane, i can feel the fangirl within me awake. The bullets era was something so special and the soundtrack of my youth. Thanks for an incredible video, always lovely to see early mcr get some loving!

As a werid ,nerdy, sad ,misfit kid their music generally make me feel less alone and make me feel better on my worst nights. And the members of mcr are very inspirational and cool people and don't seem creepy like a lot of other emo bands. They will always be my favorite band and be the best band in my heart

As someone whose work is in online marketing strategy, these type of videos are exactly the smart move, well done man. Shorter but more often. But for the love of god dial the volume back when you play the clips, a lot of people like to watch these kinds of things while they are going to sleep, and the extreme volume changes are a killer loll

I cannot express to you how much I love this type of content. I was super obsessed with MCR and other emo bands when I was younger and got bullied for it. These videos really validate me and my love for this type of music and the people that create it. Your videos are well put together and so thoughtful. I can’t wait to see what you do next 🥰
