I just went there for the first time this winter but unfortunately it was RAINING the whole time... the upside was fewer people, but a bit harder to enjoy the sights. Kind of a trade off. Got a few good photos though.

oh you guys are in a Japanese tour group! i was wondering how you were getting around XD cripes it's so crowded in Jiufen now. part of me wonders if Spirited Away really is inspired by Jiufen. when i first heard that rumour way long ago, i was like what??? can kind of see the resemblance but also ehhhhhhh not really?? never underestimate how well Taiwanese people can drive, especially in tiny alleys :D Roujiamiao is in Genshin!! XD i forget who's specialty recipe it is, but it's literally what you had at the night market. also, p sure it's actually from China instead 🤔

We were only in a tour group for going to Jiufen! For everything else we took buses and trains on our own. It's NOT what inspired Spirited Away but became a common misconception and a boost to tourism 😅 Does look very cool though all the way up the steep slope with shops and lanterns! Wonder who's dish it is! Xiangling's?? That just comes to mind cause she's a chef 😅
