Iceland is volcanically and geologically active. The island itself was formed out of the ocean some 24 million years ago by volcanic eruptions, and with 30 active volcanoes and more than 200 more spread across the country.
I took 10 days self drive tour in Iceland, driving on ring road and beyond to see most spectacular Icelandic hidden gems. The best way to find hidden gems is asking locals in the area for neat places to see. They often know about places that are not as easily found online. Also make sure to learn more about map before reaching all hidden places.
