Exploring gemstone mining and cutting in Maine. Tourmaline! - vlog
This was an intense week! We saw 1920s and 1940s faceting machines, we went to two mines, we explored history, we sifted for our own gems and even saw a giant tourmaline from 1910. Enjoy the adventure video because we had a wonderful time making a lot of new friends. This is part 25 of a year long research trip around the world.

I mined in Maine from 82 to 96, and I visited 12 different mines. The area where all the mines are has over 1500 different minerals, so you will find something.
