Exploring Cosmic Origins with NASA’s SPHEREx

Ғылым және технология

About the size of a subcompact car, NASA’s SPHEREx space telescope will map the entire sky to study the rapid expansion of the universe after the big bang, the composition of young planetary systems, and the evolutionary history of galaxies.

That was my question, What will this mission do that the web telescope isn't capable of doing ?

Every telescope has its uses and limits. JWST looks at the infrared spectrum mainly while this telescope makes spectroscopy analysis of stars instead. All these telescopes give us different information about the space around us :) it’s impossible to make a telescope capable of doing all the different areas of investigation.

JWST will only ever observe a small, targeted fraction of the sky (at incredibly high resolution and sensitivity). SPHEREx will provide spectroscopy across the ENTIRE SKY, something that no other telescope has come close to doing. Even larger spectroscopic surveys have only collected data at specific pinpoints scattered across the sky.

Is there anyway of getting 0.08 nanometre photon data for the ultra-weak electromagnetic radiation of the entire universe??? I think we are all going to be in for an amazing surprise everyone...

Exactly, beneath a microscopic lens that can invert negative index metamaterials we will find silver superlenses that can split photons of light into a plasmon display, projecting the otherside/afterlife with a lens smaller than 0.08nm from ultra-weak electromagnetic radiation. Prove me wrong...

Hopefully it won’t take NASA ten years to negotiate with covert military space programs & get permission to launch this thing, and that contractors won’t take another ten years to build it.

So, if the universe is expanding, would it not be expanding from one side to the other? Unless it started here? plus , if its as far back as we can see, what about beyond what we can see?

I agree; people don't actually recycle at all; whether you pay for it or not, biodegradable materials do take time to decompose, as well as your body!
