Transparency International is the largest non-governmental organization that deals with corruption in various countries around the world. From its ranking, we have extracted the 10 most corrupt countries in Europe. This organization is loved by some and criticized by others. What do you think about it?

Make sure you do your homework before publishing such videos. Transparency is financed by Open Society, a Soros Fund and he is clearly having a political agenda. Transparency researches are part of that agenda. Read some critisizing articles about Transparency / Soros / Open Society and draw your own conclusions. Also think about political scandals in EU and see how IT reflects ín this report. Go to original source, instead of biased articles. Hard work, but it has its fruits. Thank you

Hi! According to Transparency International, Croatia is the 14th most corrupt country in Europe, while Slovakia is the 17th. Let's remember one very important thing: this list ranks countries according to the corruption PERCEIVED BY THEIR OWN INHABITANTS, and not according to actual corruption (which is very difficult to quantify). Have a great day!

Does anyone know the name of the opposition leader in Serbia who was beaten to paralysis? I mean I am sure there is plenty of corruption there but I don't recall anyone beaten that bad, at least not in the last 10 years

  • @AmazingEuropeChannel

@user-qt4qd1gx5s Hi! His name is Nikola Sandulović. We found this news in many international newspapers. For example, you can find the article from "The Guardian" here: www.theguardian.com/world/2024/jan/11/serbia-opposition-leader-left-paralysed-by-attack-say-family. If the link doesn't open, you can still easily find this news on the web. However, we want to clarify two very important things: 1)Transparency International ranks countries based on the perceived corruption of the people, not the actual corruption. This is because it is very difficult to quantify the real level of corruption in a country. 2)Amazing Europe does not take any political position, but we report what the international press reports. Obviously, we do not have the tools to verify the veracity of all articles. Have a good day!

I am not aware that there is a better corruption monitoring available as Transparency International. I am disappointed with Ukraine. At my first humanitarian trips to Ukraine in 2000, there was about every 150 KM a police road block to be searched and to find something to pay the police to continue. This did not happen anymore at all 10 years later

@peterujfalussy1323 Hi! That's a great question, and one that we've asked ourselves as well. According to their website, they are funded 59.5% by government agencies (including ministries from France, Bhutan, Germany, Taiwan, the United States, the United Kingdom, etc.). 22.1% is funded by multilateral institutions (such as the European Commission and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime). 11.8% is funded by Foundations and Trusts (such as the BHP Foundation, Luminate Group, and Sigrid Rausing Trust). There are other types of donors, but these three types that we have mentioned donate the vast majority of the funds. Have a great day!

Hi! That's an excellent point! Transparency International ranks nations based on the corruption PERCEIVED by their own inhabitants. It is practically impossible to quantify ACTUAL corruption, because the corrupt operate in the shadows. The fact that no Western European nations appear in this TOP 10 does not necessarily mean that they are less corrupt, but that the inhabitants of Eastern nations perceive their countries as even more corrupt. Also that mayor elect is an illiterate in Albanian but also in Greek. He is also a terrorist suspect in relation to an attack of Albanian border patrol solders in the 90s.
