Exploring Cornwall - Cadgwith Fishing Village

This weekend we managed to visit a few areas, but to keep the videos a bit shorter I decided to split them up... Starting with the small fishing village of Cadgwith!

Loved this vid Trippy, you did Cadgwith proud. When I walk down the footpath from the carpark I always wonder how on earth they get their white goods delivered. Great little pub and gift shop when they can open of course. I really hope they can recoup all they have lost due to covid. So glad Connor didn't have a 'They killed Kenny' moment on those rocks. Keep safe both of you!

Thanks Paula, I'll be back for sure once the lockdown is lifted! We usually end the day with a meal and a drink, so i was disappointed not to be able to see the pub... All the more reason to come back though :) Oh and Connor said afterwards that walking across the rock was a mistake as it was very scary lol

Locals pronounce it "Caj with" as in Cadge a lift. Great video again.

Hi! I'm a primary school teacher working in Blackburn - our English topic is all about stories set by the sea and we've just read The Mousehole Cat which my kids ADORED, so we're working on creating our own story set in a small fishing village. I plan on showing them this video tomorrow to give them a great virtual tour as a lot of them have never been down to the south of England before - thank you so much for this, it's going to be SO helpful and an incredible tool for my 8 and 9 year olds in their creative writing!

Wow! I hope they find it interesting, I never thought a video of mine would be seen by children as part of a class! It's interesting that you mention the Mousehole Cat as I can remember reading about it when I was very young. Good to know the story is still being shared and passed along! I've been meaning to show Mousehole on the channel, but due to the virus they didn't put the famous Christmas lights up last year - maybe this year though! I'm certain that would be a good video! If the video is a success you'll have to let me know some of the stories they came up with!

@@TrippingCornwall They absolutely adored it, particularly the drone shot at the end with the music (thanks to the TikTok sea shanty trend, haha!) They came up with some amazing creative sentences about setting that we can use for our stories next week, so I'll keep you updated with how that goes. They were VERY impressed when I told them you'd replied back to my comment, and they were super excited to hear that you might be going to Mousehole because they loved the story so much - I think you've definitely gained 28 new fans (even if they are only 9 years old 😂) Thanks again for this brilliant video, really appreciate it!!

@@smeesquatch Great news! I'm glad they liked it lol I'll do my best to get to Mousehole as soon as we have some sunny weather again :) Just a heads up, I try to keep swearing etc. out of my videos as much as possible, but the odd word does slip through! Thought I'd mention in just in case lol

Hi Trippy, I love Cadgwith pronounced cadge with, it's so beautiful and unchanged by time. You should go to Portreath too just past Redruth, it too is a little harbour fishing village, I used to live there years ago. The best side of the beach to walk is the left hand side as you can get quite high above the village, there is a little lane on the left side just above the beach you can walk up. A cool explore, thank you for sharing, much love. xx💖

Hey Sue, I've done that walk at Portreath a few times. The last time I went there were a few horses running around by the cliffs, but I cant remember if I've done a video on it yet or not lol

Great video, it's awesome that you listen to your viewers. I commented on Reddit how it'd be nice to see some Cornish towns and villages and here you go! BTW, your friend must have struggled the walk back to the carpark, due to the weight of his balls.
