Exploring Coastal Maine - Journey to Deer Isle.

It's time for another journey across Coastal Maine. In this journey come along as I explore Deer Isle. A set of two islands of Mid-Coast Maine, an hour from Acadia National Park. Follow along as I show you the best Lobster Roll on the island, as well as one of the many nature preserves that dot Deer Isle.
Afterwards we explore the Quarry where the stone of JFK'sTomb came from and have dinner at the seaside restaurant Fin & Fern in the beautiful town of Stonington. The day ends with a beautiful sunset across from Pumpkin Island Lighthouse.

    Was born and raised there,you must know its little deer isle ware pumpkin light house is located. Then when you cross the causeway, it becomes deer isle. Then the next town is stonington. My family fish out of stonington. They work hard but they enjoy life with there loved ones.

    Glad you enjoyed the quarry. For a time it was owned by my grandfather and his siblings. The other big quarry was on Crotch Island, which you'll pass by on the ferry out to Isle a Haut. That's worth a trip if you want to hike a much less traveled part of Acadia. Love the video!

    Your videos on this area have made me want to visit Maine even more. I'm hoping we can get there next summer with our travel trailer. Congrats on your new supporters! I always love seeing the food you share as well - the calamari looked great and that lobster roll is what lobster roll dreams are made of. The coastal homes look so cute and it seems like a picturesque area to live and visit. Sand beach is a perfect little cove to see sunset.

    As someone who vacations every October on Deer Isle for the past 10-12 years (?) save the pandemic year, I would like to commend you on this video. You pretty much hit on every spot that I would recommend, especially that point on the south side of Sand Beach. That is a good spot for sunset photos. Please don't make wonderful videos like this about Deer Isle as you will ruin it for us who love the place (just kidding but then maybe I'm not). Very good work.

    Lol, I hear you. It is something I am constantly thinking about when I make these videos. Will this be one that pops and will it over flood the area. I am glad you enjoyed the content as long time visitor to Deer Isle.

    How much do you worry about ticks walking around on trails like that?

  • @AdventuresOfATravelingDon

    @AdventuresOfATravelingDon

    Жыл бұрын

    Not too much. As long as you move you don't generally have an issue. I also spray my legs as well before each hike. The tics don't jump and are relatively slow. It's only when you are still, particularly sitting for too long do you get the tick on you. Or occasionally if you trudge through an actual bush you might drop one on you. Sticking to the trails and constantly moving you are generally good.
