We used to make our own cards using some Broderbund software (forget the exact name). It came with my favorite screensaver of all time called "Art Gallery" which would simulate an airbrush painting pictures on your screen.

I would binge watch LGR's tech tales and most of the documentary and review stuff, and then MJD's documentary stuff, then re-watch all of them. Both are in a similar category of comfort food.

That Windows alert chime is apparently so hard wired into my brain that, even though I stopped using system sounds in something like 2002, and probably haven't run win9x since then either, I still think that my computer has posted an error every time I hear it. Watching this is reminding me just how gd often Windows felt the need to startle you about something.

i was very confused since i know they stopped making stuff like this in 2012 just from the title you could tell its a 90s thing. also if this is version 8 i would have assumed they made a new one once a year but then the first version would be from 1990 or the 80s. but it seems the first version is from 1992 so they either didn't release some versions or made multiple versions in some years

I still have the floppy for the Windows 3.1 version of this, I never knew there was a 9x version! I loved playing Christmas Kye and found out years later that there is an original standard version of Kye.

That red flower in the wallpapers is called "Weihnachtsstern" (christmas star) here in Germany, because it flowers around this time and is actually quite a traditional decoration for this time!

I love that program. I used it back in the day and was pleasantly surprised when it finally got updated in 2018 to support compositing window managers. I haven't tried it on Wayland, yet, because xfce4life!
