Last time I was at Bombay was about 15-20 years ago, I sometimes wonder if I was the last person to launch a boat there. The guy running the campground was shocked to see someone show up with a boat, especially a fairly nice one, it was funny. Being there was a bit painful, but also pleasing, my dad and I used to go a lot in the late 80s and 90s. The amount of fish we pulled from that lake is unbelievable to most people today. We didn't get any fish on that last trip, but I enjoyed zipping across the lake one last time. I still go to the Sea fairly often when we go off-roading at Ocotillo Wells.

Went there in the early '70s with a friend who's mother owned a bar there called the Ski Inn. Use to catch Corvina there. There was and island there that was covered in Rattlesnakes.

Probably not. It was created accidentally when the farmer’s canals/ water source burst, and the water flooded in. No new water feeds into the area.

I live in Salton City, which obviously is far less isolated and more populated, but THANK YOU for coming here with a NICE video...opposed to the incorrect narrative that this is a toxic, desolate wasteland...🙄. That gets annoying. I'm originally from the big city and never imagined I'd live here. I highly respect your nice, uplifting video, not just bashing it here. Thank you!!! 😎🙂

I think I have been to those mud volcanoes. In college I had to drop a class and was one unit short for being a full time student and found this weekend trip from a geology class. Basically toured around the Mohave and stopped at significant geology related places while taking copious notes. That was 11 years ago and cant remember much. One stop were probably these things. Also, stopped by a public shore spot on the Salton Sea was was nothing but fish bones, we stopped there to have a lecture about the naturally occurring obsidian at that spots. These were boulders of the stuff and they looked cool and I joked to the professor I should just come back here in a truck and take some home. He said you can, this is public land.

Great video guys. When you visit places like that, you really have to approach from its history. Old pictures of different time lines and people who lived there, then I think you come away with a better vibe. Same with ghost towns and abandoned cities. Integrate the old footage or pictures right before, during or after in your superb filming. (Like the drive-in) This is the kind of thing people really dig and your numbers will really climb. One hundred grand is nothing. Good luck!
