Colored Lakes of the Altiplano 1:28
Crossing the border into Bolivia from the Atacama Desert in Chile we head into the high Andean Plains of the Altiplano. We stop at the coloured lakes of Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde, spotting wild Vicuñas along the way. We stop at the surreal Salvador Dali desert, plunge into geothermal pools at Termas Polques and visit steaming geysers known as Sol del Mañana. Finishing up at the spectacular Laguna Colorada, a pink lake full of Flamingos.
Rocks that Resemble Ruins 11:40
We depart from the small Bolivian village of Villa Mallcu and head nearby to the rock formations known as Italia Perdida, named after its resemblance to a city of Roman Ruins. Afterwards we visit a farming community by the oasis in Solili Desert of Laguna Negra. Here we see domesticated herds of Llamas and Alpacas among the thriving birdlife. We stop at the Cañon/canyon Anaconda before retiring near the Uyuni Salt Flats.
Uyuni Salt Flats 22:31
We awaken in the dark and head out onto the salt flats. Hiking to the top of an island in the flats known as Inchuasi. Here we experience a phenomenal sunrise from the top of the island over the world’s largest Salt Flat. Here on Salar de Uyuni we play around with perspective photography utilising the expansive white backdrop to enhance our optical trickery.
We finish up at a train graveyard known as Cementario del trenes before finishing up in the town of Uyuni.

Yeah I think they were good. The guides didn’t speak any English so a little knowledge of Spanish helps but regardless it’s still fun. I have no regrets..
