This is in my hometown of Cyrus. population 335ish. Thanks for the memories of seeing this school again. Kindergarten until 9th grade when the high school closed. There were about 12 in my class throughout the years.

Such schools, are a reflection of what's been done to America, the past 35-50 years. Take it the water was turned off. Here in Minneapolis, they leave it on, and let nature take its course, then cry, that because the water pipes have burst, it will cost to much to fix it up. might as well help yourself to any good stuff, like the pinball machines. When they go for the tear down, everything inside also goes. They make little if any effort to salvage a thing.

I'm curious if you'd be willing to explore Northstar Community School in Minneapolis? That would be awesome!!!!!

This is a interesting video, but these old schools are most likely on a list for demolition but have asbestos in them which is expensive to remove and dangerous to be in with out breathers. Hope they got a health check lung infection not forgiving. Safety first peeps.

Fill out your maintenance request form and submit it to the man who never returned from his drug test. Only reasons for drug testing was the buildings maintenance men worked on. Who are the forces to get him and them all off?

Sadly, hundreds of school buildings throughout rural Minnesota go abandoned, part of our throw-away society. With no imagination, no vision, no leadership that could create a community center, housing for seniors, the disadvantaged, a healthcare or government service facilities. With a little “seed money” they could have been maintained and upgraded now they fall into disrepair awaiting the wrecking ball. No one even sees value in the reclamation of equipment, woodwork, or furniture.
