Exploring an Abandoned Ghost Town - Deserted After Earthquake

Ойын-сауық

In this video, we explore an abandoned ghost town in Italy. The area suffered from an earthquake over a decade ago, but the long lasting effects haven't subsided yet. The majority of the town is vacant, with the former inhabitant's possessions left behind!

So heartbreaking to see a whole Village ending in this way, the generations of families completely wiped out or halved through mother nature and the earthquake. The cost to restore just the Church would be far beyond these people let alone their houses, just makes me feel very grateful for what I have. Thank you for showing this video, excellently done with total respect as always. 💕🇦🇺

I have to say lads that once again you have surpassed yourselves! This town being devastated by the earthquake and so many people losing their homes and sadly some lost their lives has moved me so much. I am not normally a very emotional person, but this has had a major impact on me, partly because of the tragedy but also because of the level of respect shown by you all in the making of the video. For being so young, you always show a maturity beyond your years which is often missing in today’s society. I thank you all for the effort and qualities you display in your provision of these opportunities to let us all see these type of locations and stories. It's such a shame to see the damage to some very detailed and outstanding buildings. I have just ordered your first magazine and can’t wait for it to arrive. Keep up the good work and stay safe.

A respectful and tactful journey through a town with a past but sadly little future. I'd thought you'd have stayed the night. Shiey has been here over a double vlog staying in the abandoned buildings. Wishing you well.

What is the uneasy but very appropriate soundtrack that you use at the beginning of all your videos? It’s a little bit scary and I ‘ve got used to it now nut when I first heard it it was really unnerving . That town must be filled with so much sadness. Hard to get your head round it all. I hope in the near future it is able to get some sort of new life back. Perhaps the town needs to be renamed while still retaining its historic heritage. I suppose the best you can imagine is to hope the people living in it wouldn’t want it to go to waste, while simultaneously there is the thought it might happen again.

So sad, such a tragedy yet such a beautiful place. The thing is even if they do rebuild it to its former glory, I'm wondering if people will be too scared to live there now for fear of it happening again in the future .

#99👍💔It seems many towns were abandoned and are now being sold to other EU citizens that want to live in the beautiful countryside and can rebuild to make a new home. This could be the entire west coast of the US after Cascadia ruptures!! Not as many unreenforced masonry buildings in the US.
