Yes..and his "accounting or narration" is just enough info without taking away from the imagery. My favorite!!

As a EU national living in the UK, I find these kinds of videos very interesting. Gives a special insight to the history of work and daily life.

Imagine a person who used work here watching this. Their former job/career location now and abandoned relic. I work in a busy factory and I always wondered what it would look like if the lights were turned out and everything was switched off.

Always love the POV infiltration! You guys really captured a gem, old mills are my favourite. Great work as always!

I like listening to the history of the as it's being explored it makes the exploration more interesting.

Thanks lads for sharing this. I live 2 minutes away from this location and it is great to see inside the building. The factory did close down overnight due to cost. There has been many attempts to sell the property but the cost to repair and upkeep would be unjustified. There has been a few cannabis raids there too

Where is it?

We had many woolen mills in the New England States, USA.....My GrGrgrandfather, grandfather and father worked in them...as a kid i remember seeing those weaving machines working, they were very loud...sadly,most mills are no longer operating...just standing around like the one you are exploring... thanks for the tour.....👍👍

Fantastic thanks for making this film. I did a degree in textiles in the early 90's. To see those amazing dobby looms in the basement with the peg designs attached showing the design being woven in code. I have class notes of how to do that! And the laboratory would have been used to sample dye swatches and then dye up the yarns. Fabulous ❤

Location suggestion: there is an old Tesco’s/go outdoors in Chatham that went derelict a few months ago. The whole site is due to be demolished in 2025 and it’s an amazing area. There is also a massive multi story car park that got shut down. I went there a few months ago and it was amazing!

I agree. Pass this site regularly and think it would be ideal. And Mountbatten House although that it already bwing prepared for conversion to flats. Back when it was Tesco, there was an upstairs cafeteria overlooking the shop floor. Wonder if it survived the conversion to Go Outsoors?

Loved this explore! The lay out reminds me of a factory I used to work in in the 90s, now apartments lol. The shuttles on the window were a nice touch and the looms were amazing. Well done guys!!

Great video, I have visited this place before though nothing had been disturbed as much with the offices intact and no evidence of any growing, I agree with yourselves tbe weaving factory closed virtually over night there were hundreds of expensive bails of cotton left Many still wrapped up and worth a small fortune too , I won't give tbe location away .

Fascinating explore, lads. You continue to amaze me - and likely most people who watch your videos. My father worked in 2 cotton/textile factories in Perthshire back in the 1950s and 1960s, which were different than these cloth-producing factories but similar. I remember stopping to visit him at the factory in Perth and would have loved to go exploring as I did when I was 9 and 10 (and even younger), but could only stand outside and listen to the magical hum of the looms and other machines while someone found my dad. The first place (built in 1785) became a whisky distillery and I believe the second was demolished years ago. These sort of places tell a story about the people who lived and worked in these towns. Keep up the good work.

I think the hole punch machine was used to put holes in leather belts.

I remember cutting out the used stamps when I was the tea boy! Looked like there was some interesting ones there. Shame they will go to waste although I understand you don't take things. Great video as always.

Hi Alistar how are you doing buddy? Great video as always well edited and great background music to fit the scenes in the video its crazy that the place left everything inside when it shut in the 2010s this stuff could be used by someone as its all in good condition and is worth a lot of money to this day and might be perfect for a museum its terrible that one of the some of the rooms was used as cannabis plants growing rooms the wiring you saw dangling down was the group who was growing the cannabis plants hacked and moded into the electricity to make it as cheap as possible to run 24/7 as all of the equipment requires tons of volts to run and would cost thousands of pounds in electric bills to run anyways hope your having a good day so far and keep up the good work as always 👍

Thanks lads, another great historical record create by you for all to see. The basement with the weaving looms was outstanding and I am sure I could almost hear the machines still working in the background! Sadly we are becoming a nation of non manufacturers and at some point in the future we are going to pay the price for it when China who are playing the smart and long game-plan take over the world my stealth rather than force like Putin!

I liked to see this, if you ever see good yarn in any of your travels do tell because we still operate a textile mill, my father probably dyed some of the yarn usedin the cloth in that old factory. We actually use a winding frame like the one you see in some of your video.

@Urbandoned the smell is controversial, but I think what the grow adds on a more universal level is just another layer to the history of the building. How soon after it closed did the grow happen? Why did they shut down the grow? How long was the grow active? How big of an operation was it? Who ran it? Could the grow have even been there near the end of the place being closed down?

You did that explore justice...my Brother and Stepfather worked in textile factories, my Stepfather died in 1995 aged 48 from i think associated chest and other illnesses, my brother has lots of problems with his chest/respritory, in my opinion this attributed to working in these fabric textile conditions, several employees have also passed away too,

The stone construction looks very similar to typical Bradford architecture, as does the surrounding area. Bottom of Thornton Road perhaps?

That is literally down the road from me...

Even till this day people need clothes for basic needs or fashion and those textiles machines are worth a fortune.

Would love to know the story behind this place.

Been passed this building. Wonder if owner died ?. Not a bankruptcy as the liquidator would have quickly sold the building to a developer to clear the debts. I'd guess the estate was never passed on to relatives and therefore might become government property via probate ?. Eventually will become apartments.

The leaded glass window @9:46 contains two crossed shuttles in the circular feature. Shuttles are used in weaving cloth. I only know this from watching an abandoned mill in Scotland.
