Correct me if I'm wrong but that badge symbol is that of the U.S. Marine Corps. What you have there could be a Marksmanship badge. I found this out after a short Google search, so that's all I really know lol. EDIT: Oh crap I didn't watch the video all the way through. Whoops. I was even thinking just as I posted it "oh he'll probably know what it is by the end". Oh well.

It's neat to find those old home sites Michael, they look like they will be very productive. Nice finds on this hunt.

You may do this already, but a good way to check if something ISN'T silver, is to carry a magnet with you. Even if it's plated, most metal is magnetic, not silver.

+Brad Belk copper is the most common silver plated metal and it is NOT magnetic... Magnets also may not stick to some types of stainless steel...

Excellent video. You certainly never knows what you might find exploring in the woods. I dug a hem weight too. Historical finds are the best discoveries. Good job Nugget. God bless.

Nugget, you got to be careful exploring on your own like this. Take along a friend. At the very least let someone know GPS coords on where you are going to be and a check-in time. It's no joke. You could stumble onto something in the woods and put yourself in life-threatening danger. Stills, pot plants, or just falling into a hole. Bad people and their contraband are everywhere. And where is Abbey? We haven't seen her in a while.

Hey nugget, i am 13 and this is my first year meatl detecting. I just found a 1946 roosevelt dime and a sterling silver navy crewman wings. I watch all of your videos all the time. And i like all of them. I am hooked and detecting and bottle digging for life

I'm also 13 but I have been detecting for 2 years. I love detecting and it is a great thing for me to do. I also run a woodworking company and it works out perfect because while I have glue drying in the shop I can be out detecting.

would love to see more hunting in that area with the barn and old house. thank you for sharing.😄 . had a great time. I love it when you get so excited when you find relics or a new hunting place.

Down Texas way, the area with all the big rocks would be called "snake-y"! Be extra careful in those areas. Of course, you may want to head back towards town if you are allergic to those yellowjackets! You seem to have survived, but you should be more cautious! another awesome video. you should bring a little pack of tooth picks and an iod tooth brush with you. you can clean up your finds as soon as you find them. how do you find house sites? I have a lot of woods near me in central Pennsylvania. I would like to find some and detect. what's a good, cheap metal detector, I have been using my uncles, but now it's time for me to get my own. I would like it to be waterproof, but it doesn't have to be. Thanks and God bless

I like the way he did the Bible quote in this video better than previous videos. I can pause the video and reflect on it, which I can't do as well if I just have to keep replaying that part of the video.

The axes look the same because when the house you detect were being lived at most of the time people would have whatever axe was sold at the local store. And different regions of the country have a specific pattern that cuts the trees found in that area more efficient than others

Well Nugget thanks for another fine video. I like that shot gun barrel. I am interested in a model and make. That reminds me of my Grandma's Single shot shotgun. I wish I knew what happened to her's . Hey That might even be an old 10 gauge shotgun. Very historic sites. It amaze's me what one might find being used as a foundation. I hope you didn't suffer much from being stung. I got stung on my hand once . Can't say it really hurt but my hand swelled up into a balloon. The Doctor wasn't that concerned so I didn't pay much mind to it. Just be careful out there. Exploring is only fun if you live to tell about it. Thanks again for a fantastic video and the Bit of Biblical inspiration at the end. ☺
