    Absolutely adored this place.. What a great find. The furniture all built just for that place probably. The frescoes are still amazing , sad a family can leave the building & all these things,, but imagine someone is watching it. The photo of 'Nonna' ( Grandma ) on the wall brought memories back for me. I met my Great Grandmother in Italy when she was 101years old ❤ She lived until 103 , family of 12 , through the war, hiding in mountains from Germans , she was a strong lady, RIP🙏🏻 Yes, this one pulls at the heartstrings, really enjoyed it, keep up the great work.😻🌠

    Such a beautiful place, wasn't it? There is something quite heart-tugging at an abandoned house, especially when the family's memories are on show. Touching to visit always. Thank you, we will

    I think what sets Urbandoned apart is the respect you demonstrate for the places you explore and for the human context. The poignancy of an abandoned artefact in an institutional setting is never lost on you. I enjoy the well chosen soundtracks and Alistair’s commentaries. Look forward to many more !

    Some of the grander rooms do have a bit of a staged for photo ops feel to them but seeing some of the more trashed areas I guess maybe there was some cleaning up done at some stage and then decay took over again. I could imagine a Sophia Loren type wearing '60s shades in that little boat on Lake Garda! La Versa winery ( the bottle close-up) still going strong. Great work, your Euro trip must have been huge fun. 👍🎥📷

    Great videos lads and what a building, especially those ceilings. I have a feeling there is quite a story behind the history of the building and its owners, one which we will probably never know. Thanks

    Fascinating insight into the luxurious lifestyle of others from back in the day. You are right that if this was in the UK, it would be trashed and tagged into oblivion by now. Yes the place is in ruins, but at least (being Italy) it is a dry ruin - here in the UK it would certainly be filled with moss, fungus and pools of water... One thought re: the falling masonry and cracked fireplaces, could this be minor earthquake damage? Could this have contributed to the reason why the owners left the place?

    I don't think so - not in this region of Italy, but you could be right! It is a great example of luxury, some of the furniture there must cost a fortune

    Sadness overwhelms we watching this video. That dwelling clearly belonged to wealthy, active but God fearing people at one time. TV, kitchen fittings and boat looked 1980's, but other parts of the house looked much older. The bicycle next to the boat looked like a war time model from the 1940's. Were the corked wine bottles full???

    Ma' che bello palazzo! I'd hazard a guess that the reason that it's been abandoned could well be yet another example of the convoluted laws of succession in several european countries. Happens lots that siblings can't be made to agree what to do with a place and the only ones who benefit tend to be the avvocati. As to why it's not been trashed, culture, respect, fear even?

  • @Urbandoned

    @Urbandoned

    I think you're right, the thought of even touching any of the belongings left was enough reason for us. It's usually different in the UK in terms of looting that is

    What is remarkable is that despite it being accessible it hasn’t been trashed, stripped or badly vandalised. Even the small bits of graffiti you found were on a mirror which could be easily cleaned later. A very different culture of respect compared to what we’re used to in the UK.

    I don't think that was a Home. Most likely a Commercial or State building...judging by the Scale of the Room's and the Main Entrance. Could also be a former Convent/ Ecleasisastic Retreat belonging to the Catholic Church..
