Exploring a city in Malta i have never been before
In todays video i am exploring a place in Malta i have never been, this is the lovely village called Siggiewi. When people visit Malta they are aware about the most touristic areas around the island, however those who would like to get more of the history and tradition of Malta they need to go more into the country side. Siggiewi is a tiny village in Malta located in the south-central area. A beautiful village which has mainly local people living there. It is worth visiting because of the rich history this place has. If you make a visit of this part of Malta you will definitely get a feel like you are entering in a movie scene.

Hi Alex that was an excellent video and what a beautiful Maltese village. I really enjoyed watching and thankyou so much for making it. you have a real talent for making videos.
You are absolutely right alex we are all for progress but the island of Malta is known for its great character and charm in its architecture I have been going to Malta since 1986 and hope they don't change too much as the older style of buildings are beautiful excellent video as usual alex 😊
Good job Alex, nice to see the old towns. Thanks for the video.

I liked your video
Thank you Alex❤️Hope to see you there in Malta soon..watching in Hong Kong❤️
Gorgeous city. Stunning church. Yes I agree that the older buildings are much more interesting than anything new. Beautiful panoramas. Reminds me of when I first visited the stations of the cross at Ta Pinu with the views of Gozo all around. Stunning!

Hey Alex! If you are into historical structures/architecture, maybe you should visit the Megalithic Temple of Malta. Apparently it's a site that is man made thousands of years ago. I'm going to visit it when I move over to Malta soon.

Hi Alex from what I heard from my parents back then the Laferla Cross used to be surrounded by glass and during good Friday they used to put lanterns inside the cross. Nowadays as a tradition people scatter flame torches around the Laferla hill during good Friday Eve. It's an event you should visit. Even pageants that are related to passion of the Christ are hosted there

Thanks Alex, love the tour. Siggewi has lots of history as well.
I am glad you outline the contrast of the architecture. I think today's architects can throw away their licences as they are responsible for destroying the island with soulless buildings 😢 happy you appreciate the work of our ancestors .

APART FROM BEING HISTORIC, "SIGGIEW" IS ALSO QUAINT WITHOUT DOUBT.. That church, like many others on the island, is a Architectural Masterpiece ⛪ 😲. I believe the painting of "San Nikola" thereat is by Mattia Preti 🇮🇹 🎨 🖼. What happened @ 14:10? 🤔 😇 😂🤣. Please tell 😂. Anyhow, that was an amazing tour of SIGGIEWI 🙏. How many states are there in Malta
Just picking on a comment you said that Sliema is only modern .. it isn't ... Personally I think that while the modern side of Sliema is a dime a dozen like anywhere else in the world, there's the other face of Sliema, some of which is being lost, but some of which is still preserved. There's many characteristic town houses and buildings there ... Rudolf Street is a prime example with intricate moorish architecture on one side and the Anglican church on the other. Not to mention Balluta Buildings and Balluta Church (though that's technically St. Julian's), or the recently renovated imperial hotel. St Julians still has a couple of old streets as well. Of course these towns can't be described as quaint anymore. But they do have their own gems which are less easy to spot among the towering buildings but they're there. Actually the streets of Sliema off the waterfront still retain a strong Maltese character. Maybe video idea for you: looking into old characteristic architecture in Sliema/St Julians, both buildings which have been restored in their old character and old buildings which have been integrated with the modern. 😉

Hello Alex, I love your videos, and love Malta. I understand English is not your first language but there is a mistake you make often that I am surprised someone has not helped you correct. It is the difference between 'It looks good" and "it looks like this". If you do "look like" it is a comparison between two things. If you do just "It looks xxx" it is a statement about how it looks. You should not say "we want to see how it looks like". I am sure I will get a lot of shit for posting this, lol, but hopefully this helps!
