Magic Forest indeed...I love that river and can't get enough of that gorgeous blue color...you said it wasn't rough waters...I'll be darned, looked pretty rough to me but still gorgeous...now all those gorgeous views from around the lake...Oh my...it was a view a minute...outstanding WOWOW and green as the grinch I must say😆 but so clear I was amazed! I could see those fish swimming from the distance! Just beautiful...The church was beautiful, but I must say the magic forest sure is quite enchanting and the favorite spot for me today! Hi Donne, It was pretty magic too. An easy hike for a hermit and more friendly than the recent ones. At the lake it was view, after view, after view. I was like a kid in a sweet shop. I'm so glad I decided to start vlogging so I can look back on places like this and share with other people. I'm not sure I had a favourite spot, it was awesome all thro for me. Well watching peoples videos such as yours got me looking in churches now and I'm glad for it. The sun burn wasn't too bad. My legs are not used to the sun living in the UK 😂This was a pretty awesome hike out with plenty of variety. At the lake I seemed to be dropping down to amazing viewpoints every 30 seconds or so. This walk was also a bit more hermit friendly. I'm glad you enjoyed the captured views. Thank you very much for watching 👍🙂Paul

How absolutely stunning!!! These are incredible views towards the picturesque area of Ramsau. I especially enjoy it because I love these kinds of landscapes. Wow, Germany looks absolutely spectacular. Your footage and editing are perfect and so relaxing. The lake, the mountains, st Sebastian church is so lovely in the village surrounded by vibrant green hills. So beautiful inside with its grandeur and tall ceilings. Ramsau village is so quaint and looks like a storybook village. The magic forest just adds to how lovely this place is! The views of the lake and mountain are incredible. Absolutely stunning area, Paul. Haven't I said that before? Love the places you visit! Beautiful church and lovely unique colorful graveyard. Love the woodwork on the markers and the church interior! Gorgeous quaint towns and water mill as you mention. Beautiful scenery along the way! I've used up all my superlative's. (What can I say, I'm not that bright) So will begin repeating beautiful mountain lake and stunning, but yet peaceful hike. Absolutely gorge-ous! Thanks for bringing us along and we're looking forward to seeing where the bus takes you.

Hi Dave n Kathy, this area of Germany is stunning and I got rather spoiled with the weather on my visit. A couple of big pluses about starting a KZread channel is now I look inside churches after seeing other people show off beautiful churches (I'd been missing out all these years) and now I vlog my travels so get to look back on more than just photos. And I mustn't be bight either cos my superlatives seem to be the sum total of wow, beautiful and fabulous. Tho I did make up a new word on this trip gorge-ous 😂 This day was a little more hermit friendly too with quite a few peaceful spots. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour and the captured views. Paul, the view of the church is stunning! It doesn't seem real 😮 The cemetery! I have never seen one like that. It's unique and very pretty! The inside of the church is amazing! Beautiful walk, even though it was a never ending 2 miles 😅 The river has such a beautiful color and its so clear! I like those days where it's more relaxed. I like to get those busy days done, and end in the more relaxed ones 😌 The entire trail, I couldn't wait to the Hintersee, and it was a lake! A beautiful clear lake! 😊

Seeing photos of the church and the mountain back drop on the Internet is one of the many reasons I wanted to visit the Berchtesgaden National Park. @18:29 Now it isn't like I didn't like the rest but wow, that was just a stunning view. This was what I call an epic hike. I can imagine why those bench seats were all occupied. It would be hard to tear yourself away from such sights. Sigh, THAT Paul was just magical, like the forest. It'll be hard to imagine more beautiful places ( 22:47) yet behind each tree and after each bend a new view ( wallpaper my late cousin called it) would appear. Hi Anna, this was a fabulous trip and I was super lucky with the weather. The church was really beautiful and you can see why it's one of the most photographed in Germany. It was one of the photos I'd seen that drew me to the region for a trip. The magic forest was indeed enchanting and the lake had so many fab viewpoints I was spoiled. Those boats were pretty cool. Sorry Paul, only noticed this as was looking for your old Monday at 8 prem! What a breathtaking view of the Church, doesn’t look real! Annoying bridge loiterers! Great it’s open, nice look around. What an idyllic village, would not get tired of living there! Love the signs telling you how long walks will take. The weather does look very pleasant on this day, my type of day. Typical signs 😂 still two miles, love it! Too early for a drink? Surely not! Ah trail two! Cracking view over the gorge. I wonder why all the places are closed? Nice water wheel feature. Yeah I pulled another fast one. I've been massively struggling for time of late plus these longer videos take an age to build and upload so been Tuesday rather than Monday. I will hopefully have another much shorter one out tomorrow as a heads up 🙂 Also not doing premieres saves me tons of time too as I don't need to be around if just uploaded. As for this video, this place is somewhere I'd wanted to visit for a while as I'd seen the church on a lot of photos on the Internet and I thought it looked awesome. I still don't know what the 2 meant on the sign, it wasn't a distance anyway. This hike had quite the variety of views and the lake viewpoints were something else. Well worth a trip. @@GENerationXplorers yeah this area is awesome and I only did the tourist stuff. I hope to return one day (maybe next year) and do some proper hiking. I also got absolutely superb weather here which helped. It made me feel real glad I started vlogging so I can remember this trip with video as well as just memories 🙂

Thanks for this Paul ... another fabulous video with the most amazing views. Were you up early for this?, there seems to be much fewer people around and some of the kiosks not yet open though the views are stupendous so a must not miss on any visitor check list. Nice to get a contrast to other days you've had. Your other days have been exciting and as much as you can take in but this day has a wow factor all of its own with the traquility and shade of the forest interspersed with gorgeous rushy rivers & waterfall (don't forgets those ions haha ) I still can't believe how beautiful the colour of the water is. And then the lake with so many different vantage points, the reflections of the ever changing sky and and secret places a Hermit can get some space. Am loving these & the way you film them ... you've absolutely nailed it ... well done 😎😊

No I arrived in Ramsau for about 9.30, I think. These areas are were less tourists and I'm not sure why some of the kiosks were not open. I enjoyed this day. I also enjoyed the other days. Well all the days in the Berchtesgaden National Park. I hope to return some day. This hike had quite the variety of views and lots of different awesome views at the lake. I'm glad you enjoyed the views I managed to capture even tho my mug shot got in the way sometimes 😂 Thank you very much for watching 🙂👍Paul

I'm sorry for the delay watching I had a root canal and cut my finger lol😅 anyway wonderful area Paul. I would love to see this area since I haven't. The gorge with the stream and lake were magical. Wait... Beer at 9 in the morning 😂. Wow yes that's early.

Hi Nicole, sounds like you're in the wars. I don't envy you on the root canal. I hope you're all good now. This was a fabulous day out and I'd wanted to visit the church since seeing photos of it on the Internet. It didn't disappoint. The rest of the hike was a super bonus and I'd love to go back some day to explore more of the area. Yeah I saw people drinking at 9 in the morning that week but that bar was shut and it was around 10 😂 Thank you very much for watching 🙂👍Paul

I really enjoyed this hike too and it seemed to uncover a new gem at every turn. The hike took about 3 hours with stops. It's about 5 miles in length. The was late August last year

so so pretty paul. i'd hang around on the bridge too. spoil all your shots! great to see you out on a hike. gotta get you a long sleeve sunshirt (rashguard), stay cool and protect you from the burn. i want to go to the magic forest, especially for the water wheel. it looked like it had a bunch of cool little parts to it. gorgeous lake. i am just growing ever more jealous of this trip you took in the summer!!! if you could go anywhere tomorrow on a one-two week trip, where would you go? 🛴❤

Those darn people hanging around on the bridge 😂 Tho I do a bit of that myself. It wasn't my arms with the sun burn so much as my legs. My legs don't see the sun much and silly me forgot to put sun cream on them on a very hot day. They were OK. This hike had a bit of everything and very easy compared to what I normally do. I'm looking to hike up more mountains in Scotland this year. Now where would I go tomorrow...a good question...and I don't have anywhere in mind for that. However I am thinking Italy and Switzerland for trips this year. I'm glad you enjoyed the captured views from this hike. Thank you very much for taking time to watch 👍🙂Paul

Hi Jim, that river sure was a fabulous colour and the church with the mountain back drop you can see why it's one of the most photographed churches in Germany. This hike was view, after view, after view. Even had a coffee stop 🙂 I think fishing is allowed but maybe in certain areas. I didn't see anyone fishing whilst on my hike. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. This was late August last year and I got super lucky with the weather during my time in the Berchtesgaden area. Tho I do believe around that time of year is meant to have less rainfall.

Stumbled upon your channel whilst planning a ten day trip around Bavaria for my 50th birthday this year and have to say of all the videos I’ve watched yours are the nicest! May I ask if you used public transport for your trip or a car? I’ve been to Germany before and found the public transport to be very efficient and good value but can’t help thinking hiring a car would be better for Bavaria. Keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Tony, when I visited I stayed in Berchtesgaden right near the bus/train station and you're given a guest card by the hotel that gives you free bus travel in the area, with one or two exceptions. The guest card also gives you some discounts on venues such as the Eagle's Nest. I did do all tourist stuff whilst there so there was a bus there and back to all the places I visited. However if you're planing on going off the beaten track a little then a car may be a better option. I had an amazing time whilst there, helped by the weather. I'd love to return and explore a bit more one day. I'm so glad you enjoy watching my videos and thank you very much for the endorsement, it means a lot. @@TheHikingHermit thanks for the reply, I do plan on visiting as many places as my ten days will allow so I was leaning towards hiring a car. Having left the uk to live in Iceland 5 years ago I gotta say I’m envious of the weather you had on your trip and fingers crossed I’ll get some good weather too. Planning end of may and early June for at least ten days so wish me luck! Will rewatch all your German videos again soon to gather more tips.sent you a few coffees to help you in your next trip and look forward to following

@@TonySaunders yeah I did get super lucky with the weather in Germany. I went on to Austria afterwards and the weather turned real bad but I guess I couldn't grumble too much after Germany. Living in Iceland sounds pretty neat and I've never been. It's a place I'd love to visit some time. I believe late May and late August/early September are sweet spots for the weather so fingers crossed you get great weather. My trip was late August. Exploring Bavaria for your 50th sounds like an awesome birthday treat to me. Thank you very much for the coffees, you're too kind.
