Exploding Whale 50th Anniversary, Remastered!
The infamous KATU Exploding Whale video has remastered!
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the infamous beached whale incident that took place in Florence, Oregon on November 12th 1970, the Oregon Historical Society arranged for a 4K transfer of the original raw film footage from their archive. KATU has re-edited the package from the new high resolution video. Enjoy!

Maybe not❗ Biden just gave away billions of dollars of American military equipment to a bunch of illiterate mountain hillbillies in Afghanistan. And pulled our military out BEFORE pulling out our civilians; therefore leaving thousands of unarmed Americans stranded and at the mercy of a terrorist organization. Monty Python had humor as it's target. Biden has no target. His dementia is precisely the reason that he was selected by the Socialists pulling his strings. You meant to be lighthearted, I know❗ In the face of the news of the day; humor is eluding me right now. I could use a couple of episodes of M.P.‼️

I’ve watched this a few dozen times and only now did I process the fact it was the Oregon State Highway Division that was tasked with dealing with the whale. I was too distracted by the “whale explosion” bit and the top-tier reporting to notice the detail about which government agency was responsible for the mess. But my word, it’s my favorite detail now. They didn’t call a government agency that worked with animals or on the coast / ocean. No, this matter clearly falls into the scope of highway division

In Oregon, in the early 1910s, they used the beaches as highways... so much so that the governor at the time declared the beaches were property of the state, to this day.
This feels like a Monty Python sketch. The absurd premise, the matter-of-fact delivery of the lines, and the bits of dry humor sprinkled throughout. Magnificent.

It was either this or they invent a large particle destroyer that vaporizes it on the spot. The city didn’t have the budget for this. They also considered the idea of making it mandatory for everyone in the town to gather together at the same time on the same day to charge at the whale and push it back into the sea. There were actually many other ideas they came up with, but this one ultimately seemed like the best option.

Most of the people here are just partially seeing the thing, and not using their brain. They are not thinking, that how can this much heavy weight Whale could be moved from that beach. The people in that time didn't had the machinery to do the work, so they had no other choice, but to explode that thing, and the leftovers could be thrown back into water. Just Think About It...
