If we started crimping in opposite direction then what would be its effect?

If we start crimping in the opposite direction, it could happen that the cable lug is pushed away from the cable and the last crimp would not be properly connected to the cable.

Does crimping the whole length of the lug impact the lug in a negative way ?

When crimping cable lugs, you should always follow the specifications. The gaps between the crimps are important because the compression ensures the strength.
