Honestly, the system is so bad, and, as you said, it doesn't take these units anywhere near meta lvl, so I'll keep on turning my dupes into Ex+2 for extra 1/10 NV tickets (even if I'm not ever pulling anything relevant from those...)

Yup. Typical Alim power jump. Was expected to happen again someday, and today's finally that day. Lasswell is insane. The didn't need to give him 200 higher base Atk over other units, but they did, and it's on top of passive cap being boosted to 600% to further increase it's value and the new 1000% Leader Skills. It's insane. I hate it. Thanks for explaining the update, Sinz. it all really just sounds like nothing they just couldn't do with ability awakenings or standard unit upgrades, but now they can make yet another new upgrade material to farm that players don't have stored up like crowns. It's also just an excuse to sell new units at a new broken power level. Of course, the Leader Skill power creep will be kept on different units, so now you REALLY gotta make sure you pull for two different units at a time. So much fun. The unit upgrades aren't even that good so even the excuse to get rid of excess NVs isn't worth celebrating as the quality really just depends on how willing or mistaken Alim is feeling on a given day, like any other unit upgrade.

Glad we know this now...I've been moving units to EX2 just for the 1/10 NV tix

coming back to this after thinking about the noctic king pull coming up. I'm going for it! He's almost as good as an NV+ unit.

I admit I at least figured the neo vision + thing out a bit. But I think this is very good of a guide to NV + already.

Nice extra system for the game tbh. I thought they’ll implement something like this because WoTV has the tendency to revitalize older units aside from crowns. It doesn’t look like a hassle and it puts some units back on the map. Great breakdown of the new system Sinz 🤘🤘

Are all characters able to use fragments to enhance their abilities at the beginning?

I really wish that the unit limit wasn't such a hassle to deal with. I have so many 5-star units that are just clogging up my unit inventory, and don't really know what to do with them hue...any advice on what to do with an overflow of 5-star units?

You can combine 4 of them for their STMRs, if any strike your fancy. You can combine 20 of them for 100% TMR and trade them for trust coins. Not sure there's anything more to do with them.

@@willchurch8376 Yeah, I got pretty much all the STMRs that I really need from them is the thing. Kinda sucks that that's what happened to that era. Not even an easy way of fusing them together like the other units either hue. Pretty sure we're not getting anymore upgrades to those types of units in the future?

finally a Lasswell W I hoarding. I heard his elemental amp was low so I scared they did, well a Lasswell, but those stats, plus GLB elemental amp VC's oh boy. The normal NV upgrades using fragments looks kinda like WOTV's transcendence, but a little less tedious. With FF7R Rebirth coming in February, I'm guessing we'll see NV+ on GLB around then with FF7 units.

What're the symbols above the enemy life bar, was there a UI update and that's showing the breaks on the enemy or something?

I must say I do like both the NV+ and the Fragment upgrade system. Getting NV+ looks easy since it is just farming and pulling. The Frag Upgrade may be tedious but at least something to maybe try to make old units useable. Can't wait to see such a thing or NV+ implemented into global units.

I got one Rain and one Lasswell, but I had a super random thought about the NV pool being similar to what happened in wotv a year or two ago, where people discovered the same exact pulls happening over and over off a 10-pull. I’ve gotten 3 Magitek Roca and 4 of the new Locke out of about 10-12 overall NVs. It just feels impossible for that to happen.

thanks for the heads up. as least we can now sfely fragment every NV after the first copy (yeah to unit space) - but just need to think twice on premiums with good VCs (like Ibara). Hope GL does something for the EX+y dupes (i have 3 EX+3 Rains) :(

So it isn't a new rarity. It just has a reduced rate, like a new rarity, and insanely higher stats, like a new rarity, but it totally *wink wink* isn't a new *wink wink* rarity *wink wink*. Grats on the Rain, and thanks for this rundown explaining how it works. Glad to know my near 500 extra Sol and OG Rain fragments might finally have a use.

yeah its a new UI indicator for your emperor cactuar overlevels. she's 0/10 cuz i didnt emp cactuar her, but my noctis for example would have shown 10/10 there since hes got all 10

Well, the bonus after EX+3 requires about 900 shards, almost like a Box summon system, oh god I'm terrified of what will GL do with this.

if playing jp on your pc, you can use your phones camera and google translate app to real time translate

If you're on phone, you can take a screenshot and stick it in the Google Lens software. Then navigate to translate and the app will translate as much text it can read.

What have you been doing with your NV dupes in the Global version Sinzar? Maybe you thought something like this could happen?

ive been using dupes to make extra ex2's for the 1/10 tickets... but that stops as of yesterday for me!

Hopefully Gumi is not too lazy when this comes to GL and actually gives some nice things to GLEX units. Edit: From here on out I will only frag extra units and not EX level them, except if I want an extra copy of their VC.

Time to clear out my entire reserves and make it my NV dupe dumpster. I used to always make duplicates EX2 for the 1/10 NV ticket and then recycled them for the 50 shards.

But it's unlikely that all or even most of these older units would be that great even after getting these 'extra' bonuses? and we wouldn't know whether it's worth it to save all these duplicate units for this purpose. Either way, it's gonna be a nightmare to find a place to store that many dupes, and even costly to expand unit slots.

I pull one each for premium banner and got 1 Rain and 1 Fina on their banner then I go to pull on Lasswell banner and I got new Fina instead of Lasswell. I wish I got one of him

The new system looks a tiny bit like wotv's new reincarnation system, in that you get random tiny stat increases by burning some extra resources and excess fragments (though you can use anyone's, not just that one unit's). Btw I awakened around 10 neos to EX+2 just so I could get that 1/10 ex ticket and shard them again, and repeat the cycle. It was a really shitty exchange (30 NVs for 1 nv ex summon), glad that there's an alternative now (and hope I didn't screw myself too much).

On global you need to reach EX+3 to obtain a premium card. Avalanche's Tifa is one of those premiums. It's contradictory design to then also require that you don't add ex levels. They also did this with NVa, where if you want to go for STMR (the old system) using dupes, you lose out on unit fragments (new system). But at least there you have stmr moogles, omniprisms, select summon tickets and the EX coin exchange to reduce that burden. Honestly, the 1/10 ticket summon should have been a nv unit select shop instead...

I seriously doubt this new upgrade system will be worthwhile. If it is only for extremely outdated units, it is extremely unlikely they will ever surpass current meta units. And if they are able to surpass a current unit, global will probably delay/skip it until it isn't competing with the current units (I have become very jaded towards their business decisions). I hope to god that lasswell's decreased rate is a one time only thing and will not be the future of all NV+ considering guaranteed pity prices have gone up so much recently

and whats the point of going for the meta if you arent planning on getting top 10 in dark visions?? Getting updated units to do the harder unranked content is good enough. I will be upgrading all available units

To tell the truth I think I will continue making +2 units. Unless the abilities give those units some insane mods I just don't see them being any good, without good mods 2k stats is not much worth in my opinion but if they get good mod buffs then they might be worth it.

So much clutter and it keeps piling up. I'm surprised that the game memory data is not exploding

Maybe I'm just being overly cynical, but at this point, it feels like both of these systems are just here to devalue your Lapis even further. NV+ comes with the worst rates yet for new units, which means even more of an up front cost to get these units to a usable level, especially in Global where EX2 is basically mandatory for Clash. With the insane power spike that the new Lasswell has, I'm anticipating that any new damage dealer without NV+ is gonna be dead on arrival, especially as more come out and we're able to start fielding entire teams of NV+ units. Then the EX Bonus system comes in to make sure that your off-banners stay useless, because now they have a justification for not removing older units from the summon pool. Now all those 3 year old Neo Visions that keep haunting you can be used for marginal stat upgrades that don't actually make them any more usable. If the upgrades were better and NV drop rates got a *massive* drop rate increase across the board, like 15% base rate for NVs and a guaranteed NV for every 10+1, I could maybe see an argument for it given how many shards are needed. But as it stands now, it's just gonna be more of the same with one usable unit showing up for every 200 pulls, with a bunch of dupes in-between that are immediately sharded and offer nothing of substance. Most veterans are gonna have at least a dozen units that are still better than the ones that have received this "upgrade," and the cost puts it way outside of anything that a newer player could hope to achieve. Maybe Global can fix these systems and implement them in a way that actually benefits players, but with their track record lately, I'm not holding my breath. If these systems come to Global and aren't substantially improved, I may just finally quit. I'm just so fed up with them constantly devaluing the time and money I put into the game.

I started playing rpg’s in the 80’s so I am no stranger to grinding, but what a disgusting example of just pure greed. Just wait, we will see “new” banners or even higher drop rates for all of these trash units. We would all have better luck going to the casino, or just lighting money on fire. I bet they don’t even give us increased unit capacity. Have to grind that to👍🇨🇦

i can see gl make this system a lot better of us this right here will make a lot of gl player mad if it a rng system no body like that so why not let us pick what we like to get just like the stats system we got of lvl up are base stats like if u only like to get that 2000 atk let us buy it of 300 shard out the 850 we need to get to unlock ever thing like let just hope gl will fix this of us like they normal do of us ever thing guim do of gl will all ready be better then what ever jp think

500k lapis and its bad to just spend an extra 15k?? Are units that expensive in JP or they just aint good??

Ya know I am still waiting for all my favorite 7 star units to get NVAs and they are already pulling this shite. Even if they gave every single 7 star an NVA (Except those that already have an NV equivalent I guess) I bet Global would just skip them.

I’d prefer to play JP instead of Global if they added an English language to it. Global is just lacking in content and summons compared to JP even with Global COW event. Wow, the amount of control you have on pulling. I can see how you managed to have so much lapis.
