We re-uploaded this video to make it easier to find for new players. Do you think these refreshers on game mechanics are also useful for more experienced players and would you like to see more of these?
You also forgot proxy spotting range: When the vehicle is too close to your tank (50m i think), but not i direct line of sight, you will spot it and get spotted no matter the view range or camo value either of the tanks has.
these videos should have shorter versions and be mandatory when starting the game as part of the tutorial, or if u watch them all you get a good reward. I think the game will be better for everyone old and new if these things where more common knowledge.
Is this applyd in world of tanks blitz
okay..
they did cut the video where they said before there gonna be a new video about camouflage, which never was released.
Don't forget to add the fact that if you want to see you're enemies you need to play medium tanks because meds have more view range than light. Don't worry, makes perfect sense.
thank you for this - i knew alot about the spotting mechanics but never knew about the spotting point on the gun mantlet - sometimes it got me confused how the enemy managed to spot me despite 80% of his turret being beheind an obstacle, and other times parts of their turrets was exposed but they couldn't see me (due to the 2 checkpoints for spotting being beheind cover). this finally explained my issues with figuring out when i could fire unspotted at enemies at closer ranges than usally.

Maybe it would be a good idea to add option to see those (view/spot) rays and other properties (from other Explaining mechanics and more) in training camp or other game mode. Plus i think it would be good idea to add smoke shells, game would become more tactical :) And for easier access add video player with those videos to watch them in game
Good old days, when the Bulldog had an autoloader.
asking for the math: Tank A has 450m view-range and 20% camo rating. Tank B has 500m view-range and 30% camo. Tank A needs Tank B at a distance of 315m (450m - 30%) and for Tank B to spot Tank A 400m (500m - 20%) are enough, right?
dat music <3
Ok but where are the checkpoints and view ports on a TD / SPG if they don’t have a turret?
It's work in blitz?
why diddnt WG tell us about these checkpoints before?!@# omg ive been overthinking scouting this whole time!
Is there any way to get that camera mod?
does this work the same way on blitz?
cool
