EXPLAINING JOSEPH ZBUKVIC WATERCOLOR CLOCK IN A DUTCH VILLAGE SCENE

While I am working on a watercolour of a Dutch village scene I come up with my "review" of Joseph Zbukvic' "Mastering The Mood".
After studying his watercolour clock I must admit that I already used it a lot before, wthout realizing I did so. But I never thought about the possibility to use much more water for the wet parts and use much more dryer paint for the dry parts, to achieve more steps in my work. After reading Mastering The Mood I am using this possibility and it creates more depth and contrast in my watercolours.
You will see:
- Watercolor step by step
- Watercolor in all layers
- Water reflections in watercolor
- Creating depth in watercolor
- Painting trees in watercolor
- Painting architecture in watercolor

Hi Titus. Really love looking over your shoulder when you are painting and making your art. Amazing watercolour city shapes. Also nice to see you use oils also. I have always used oils as a hobby artist. Now I am learning watercolour. It is very difficult, I feel like a beginner again at the age of 70! But starting to love it. I used to watch everything on you tube that I can find on watercolour, but just love your relaxing and engaging videos. Thanks. Debs in Spain

I asked a question in a comment in another one of your videos about color and how you make the colors so real, for shadows or for light. This video answers very nicely. I have never heard of the clock in watercolor but it was like a light going off in my head. Many thanks for this information and your great way of explaining things! 🙏🏼

What a beautiful painting it turned out to be. I was looking for a tutorial by Zbukvic and I found you instead. A happy accident indeed. You really are a brilliant artist.

The clock is probably the watercolor medium states best explanation ever and your video shows perfectly how to use it. Besides, I have seen some of your work and you are an amazing artist. If you do more content in english you will grow up a lot in very few time in KZread and instagram.

I don't mind the subtitles . I hate to tell someone they should speak our language. Maybe we should learn theirs?

@@RXbee2 I hate to be that person, but I found about them through the algorithm and their english videos. I totally don't mind him speaking their language, but I wouldn't have found such a wonderful painter otherwise.

I have been a chef for over 40 years and couldn't agree with you more as to your comparison of a fine painting and a gourmet dish. The chef is not reading a recipe as they create their gourmet delight..... there is the mastery of basic technique, perfect timing, knowledge of complimentary ingredients and the intuitive relationship of the chef and his or her ingredients which culminate in their culinary work of art. Often, this is something that is very difficult to explain to someone who has yet to experience this feeling.

Succes werk!! Met groet Rein

It’s great that you added English subtitles, but there are quite a few errors in the translation from Dutch to English. Some of them are subtle, and some of them are not. I think it would be good to get a native English speaker to help you with your translations.
