By the way, the boomstick can be paired with silver/tungsten bullets to do far more damage and is much cheaper than using them with the minishark

2:10 Even the Hellwing Bow outperforms Night's Edge on Destroyer so not really. You can kill Moon Lord with wooden bow, that doesn't mean it's not severely outclassed for obvious reasons. 3:14 Its performance on Plantera is not really spectacular & gets outshined by many weapons, and besides if you can fight the Solar Eclipse & obtain the Death Sickle then the pirate invasion shouldn't be an issue at all in the first place. It's not really useful against Martian invasion either because of low damage at that point & martian saucer's beam passes through blocks anyway.

There are two types of people in this world: Minishark fans, and boomstick enjoyers.

I use both. If I have a small target, or I need to keep my distance, I use the Minishark. But if I have a big target that I can stay close to, I use the Boomstick.

I have some contention with the notion that the terra blade was "really good" before 1.4.4. Like, sure, it's not a bad weapon by any stretch - it's good - but I wouldn't really describe it as "really" good. The slow, small projectile made it difficult to hit certain bosses, and it actively punished you if you used melee speed bonuses because, the faster it swung, the slower its firing speed got.

The firing speed did actually increase, but it was only marginal and the projectile speed was also increased with the melee speed. I think the main thing you’re talking about is how bad the melee I frames were before, especially for the terrablade.

The flying dragon is by far the most underrated weapon it terraria. it deals almost 2x as much damage as the terra blade and it's only obtained one boss later.

Razorblade Typhoon (obtained from duke fishron) , Shadowflame knife , Uzi & Sanguine Staff (all of them can be obtained before defeating any hardmode bosses) are also really good weapons. Razorblade Typhoon no matter what stage you obtain it it will help you a lot through out the game. Shadowflame knife being literally your only long ranged option for melee and actually being able to defeat Duke Fishron & Plantera is pretty busted, the same goes for uzi but it gets replaced with megashark once you defeat Destroyer tho it can shred Duke Fishron pre mech and help you get the Tsunami.

Honestly typhoon is overrated, homing projectiles never do as great, bubble gun which can be obtained from the same boss does a lot better imo. There's also a bananarang but these weapons pretty much the same. Uzi while being an op weapon has 1 major downside - 1% chance drop from angry trappers and you should grind for at the start of hardmode. Though this downside can be negated by making a mob farm(which I always do), but still it took me an hour on battle potions to obtain one last time. Sanguine staff is worse than blade staff and that's the point, it's also hard to obtain, I had several worlds with no blood moons whatsoever and I never go fishing since it's boring. Queen slime on the other hand has an easy to obtain summon and she's also easier for me to kill(but that's just me so it doesn't count)

took me a hot minute to realize that HOLY CRAP THIS GUY IS SRIMINALLY UNDERATED

Yeah, when I did my first melee 1.4.4 playthrough, the Night's Edge and Terrablade are so amazing, legit Ranger and Melee are the best classes for something like a hardcore challenge or something like that. Also something underrated that's technically not a weapon but instead a trap that I see no one talking about is the Venom Dart Trap. It's a new trap introduced on 1.4.4 and it can be crafted out of a normal dart trap and 2 Spider Fangs and it's glorious for AFK farms. You can literally inflict the Venom debuff Pre-Plantera and it's sooo good, it melts through many events... Also honorable mention to the Spore Sac, it was buffed on 1.4.4, the green clouds more faster and more far away to hit enemies, plus 1.4.4 made it easier to make AFK dungeon farms, it's pretty much really hard for them to kill you, because you actually get banners from killing skeletons with the spores and the skeletons that shoot through blocks also get stunlocked.

@@SpiderJAAM Sure, but on my current playthrough, I'm in early Hardmode with a Melee build, and I'm using the Spider staff because I don't see any reason why not to use a minion to supplement my DPS

also another underated one: charged blaster cannon I MEAN LIKE COME ON ITS A LITREAL PRE-MOONLORD LAST PRISIM ITS EVEN BETTER THAN THE NEBULA BLAZE AND CAN BE GOTTEN AFTER GOLEM ITS INSAINLEY UNDERATED BRO

Idk what mode have you played but stormbow is trash comparing to the dart pistol for example which is obtained in the same way. It also does literally nothing against regular enemies. The only credit I can give is that if you playing arrows only this weapon is decent on duke so you can obtain tsunami, no more than that

Xeno staff does better on empress and that's the fact. Ngl summoner it's the only class where I never go for fishron pre mech. The minions aren't too bad but they miss quite a lot. Also how it's the second? Outshining the terraprism or the stardust dragon? Maybe both?
