I am a Christian and I grew up watching Ramayan and Mahabharat…. read all the Amar Chitra katha stories and to see this was a major let down…. It was a sad moment…. For me Ramayan was my growing up memory.. my identity as an Indian and my culture which I revere till this date ..even if the politicians have us pitted against each other…. This should not have happened… but it’s a lesson for us not to let our religion become so political that ppl think they can blindly lead us on ….

If you are an Indian, born in 90s, you may be Hindu or Muslim or Sikh or Christian or Jain or Buddhist, Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan and Raj Kamal's Mahabharat were must to watch with the whole family. We all were engulfed in those shows and even now I watch Ramayan show whenever I get chance. I went for the first day first show of Adipurush, and believe me, the whole movie hall along with me were disappointed and felt pain to see our culture being disrespected.

I get that it's a bad film. I haven't seen it but most of the reviews are negative so I can guess that it's bad. But just because it's a bad movie doesn't mean that it's insulting the Ramayana. Did they show Ram in a negative manner? Was Ravan shown as a hero?

@@razorrrhere Ram is not shown as Jesus. He is shown wearing a white dress. That does not make him Jesus. In most of the film he is wearing saffron clothes. That is not what Jesus wore. Yes there is one scene where Hanuman spoke an inappropriate dialogue. That I agree was disrespectful. But were all the dialogues like that? If they were then I can say that it was disrespectful. Showing Lanka as a dark place is incorrect. That does not make it an insult. Does the movie show the Gods in a negative manner? Are they shown doing irreligious acts? If yes then it is an offence to Hinduism. But if it's just not an accurate representation of the original text then that does not make it an insult. It just makes it a bad movie.

I am a Christian who loved watching 90s ramayan in childhood.This movie may be acceptable to today's kids who love modernization but it won't be acceptable a generation who grew with respect towards culture ,country and religion

I have never seen Akash so angry before. He doesn't express his emotions in the video, but his actions (body language) reveal how disappointed he is with this film. People's hatred for each other blinded them to reality. I remember watching Ramayan on television and my mom performing her namaz in the next room. She never stopped me from watching it. She always said that everyone has their own beliefs and that to survive in the world, you need to have faith in something.

I am a Muslim. My mother taught me full story of Ramayan when I was 10 years old, explaining the values behind that story. I read authentic devanagiri script Mahabharata prose and poetry with full understanding of contexts and meaning in school for board exams. I studied in a Convent school and we read Bible everyday in school assembly. I read and listen to Qur'an everyday before starting work, with English and Urdu meaning. This is my Indian roots, which I proudly celebrate. I work abroad. I distribute boondi ke laddoos to my colleagues (from so many nationalities) at work on Independence Day and Republic Day. I do volunteer work for my Indian community here. This is the ethos we have been brought up.

As a Muslim i watch both Ramand sager Ramayan and B .R chopra directed Mahabharat.I also read both Ramayana and Mahabharata in class 6 &7 because it included in our textbooks syllabus at JNV. It teaches me lot of ethics and our cultralroot but know in the race making money we making Nonsense just use religion as commercialisation tools.

I remembered a video of Arun Govil ji where a muslim family touched his feet at the airport a few months ago. This level of respect Arun govil ji earned where people (irrespective of religion) still see Shree Ram ji in him. That was the beauty of showing purity of Ramayan.

I cant express my level of happiness for that Hanuman tshirt you are wearing🧡. We grew up watching Bal Hanuman and the kind of hanuman who radiatiee warmth and joy. I was tired of Hanuman being portrayed as an angry and ferocious God. Finally seeing him smiling brought back that nostalgia. I am an atheist though, but greatly admire literature and philosophies.

As a Muslim growing up in Bangladesh, I heard the story of Ramayana from my grandfather. He told me the story from the point of view of good and evil. Ramayana’s epic goes beyond the borders of India and Hindus. I was in love with the Japanese anime which came out in 93. Compare to those , adhipurush felt insulting to the memory.

One of the main excitement of coming to india during holidays from GCC was to watch Ramayana in Dhoordarshan. The whole family and neighbors would crowd around the small TV irrespective of our religion or status or age or gender. Now our TV’s are huge and we have more space but nothing epic shows on and the neighbors don’t visit and families are all far away . The old days were good .Will it ever come back . Have we lost our india of brotherhood and unity ❤️. I am glad I got to experience an india of love and unity . Now let’s just fight and make our politicians rich .

I am a Muslim by religion but respect all the religions equally, Myself and my family also followed Ramanand sagar's Ramayan with same enthusiam as any of my Hindu friends did that time. I have not seen the movie (didn't want to waste time and money after watching reviews and leaked videos) but seen the leaked videos and I feel very sad from bottom of my heart that how few people's kiddish behavior and hateful nature gave courage to filmmakers to mock such a great and respected mythology and made fun of gods. Shame is on those who gave them courage that anything can be served in the name of Ram and Bajrangbali/Hanuman.

As a muslim, Ramayana is a part of my childhood..We all used to sit in front of doordarshan, waiting for Arun govil ji's divine face, such calmness he possessed..as if all the problems of the world can be solved by a calm demeanor, all such wonderful characters, even Ravana arvind Trikha ji, oh mann what a performer he was..His attahas was a depiction of his ahankar, otherwise he was also so disciplined..It was a war bw good and evil...where evil was not synonyms with the modern day projections ..Please let Ramayana be Ramayana...it's an epic of valour, respect, love..not the wildness you projected by Ravana feeding meet just to draw parellels with the most favourite topic nowadays the babars and the Aurangzeb...the simplicity of Ramayana made small children like me carry a bow and arrow at my back, ..and iam so proud of it ..pls dnt destroy our fabric ..the love we had for each other..pls..it hurts bad

Growing up in Christian family in kerala, I used to run with all my might not to miss Ramayan in Dooradarshan..preseious memories of my childhood. Dont want some fool to ruin it..

I still remember when I was a kid, we had a fixed time to watch Ramayana. Those days we were the only one to have a TV, all my neighbours used to gather in our living room fully packed to watch Ramayana.. those were the golden days where Muslims and Hindus were like blood relatives...

People specifically pointed out what was wrong in Adipurush. Meanwhile some people called for direct boycott of movies like Kerala stories, lol.

It has been so many months after this movie was released. It is on Netflix too.. but i have not watched it and will NEVER watch it. I am muslim, but have grown up hearing Ramayan and Mahabharat. I have also watched Mahabharat and Siya ke Raam series with family and love them. Adipurush is insult to whole Indian culture

When the Ramayan TV series was telecast in 1987 every Sunday morning, BBC recalled, "streets would be deserted, shops would be closed and people would bathe and garland their TV sets before the serial began". That's the impact that Ramyan had. Everyone watched it irrespective of caste, culture or religion. This movie is not even a shadow of that masterpiece.

Hanuman character was the biggest insult....very hurtful

One good thing that came out of this movie is that people have revived Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan as well as 1993's Japanese one!

As a Muslim I feel bad for Ramayan being distorted by Sanghis for their propaganda.

Then, you must watch the movie properly. He is not shown as Lord Sri Ram, but shown as a popular freedom fighter, Alluri Seetharama Raju. Ram charan's character is based upon Alluri Seetharama Raju's charisma and daringness.

Tulsidas's " Rama Charit Manasa " misses the genius of Balmiki's Ramayan. It lacks the epic ideas of Balmiki . The characters no more contain their shades of grey. It's all white or black. Though he did a remarkable job but that no where comes near the literary classic of Balmiki . Tulsidas's over devotion towards the character Rama ( who he perceived as a God) shadows his own greatness as a poet , as well . P.S. Deshbhakt's criticism is also oversimplified . ' Adipurush' is a nasty nonsense but to prove that he too brought some senseless ideas .

If I ever made a mistake at work next time, I will remember that they're people in the world who made Adipurush and still seen in public. 😢

I am a Muslim and love the comments coming from the Muslims as they are speaking out my own sentiments. Believe me I went through so many YT videos on Adipurush but Akash has done the best coverage in his satirical manner. Really enjoyed this video! Good work Deshbhakt! 👍

As a pure Hindu, i don't care about the comments, Adipurush was an opinionated film, another side of things. We Hindus are the only religion to have artistic liberty, which is banned in other religions. There are many versions of Ramayana emanating from the Valmiki Ramayana.

My favourite serial Ramayan when I was kid even iam a muslim

I am a Muslim and I remember when ramayan was shown on Doordarshan 2 decades back.....my whole family members use to watch it with such curiosity. We all use to wait for the show every week..... wonderful memories

The original ramayan was not just for one religion.... It was a national treasure.... I still miss it to this day...

Even gurmeet chaudharys ramayan was so delightful to watch when we were kids... He had the aura.. Arun govil❤.. The legend of prince ram animation❤... This is how things should be presented

Being a Muslim, I still remember watching Ramayana both on DD National and the animated series on Cartoon Network. I learnt many moral values and humanity from Lord Ram's character. As I grew up and when I see people misusing *"Jai Shree Ram"* for political agendas, it saddened me. I know that people won't believe me because I'm a Muslim, but Lord Rama's character has been very close to me since childhood. His love towards his parents, his subjects, his calmness and strength. Hanuman Ji's loyalty and bravery and many more are things to be inculcated in one's life. Seeing people messing with this epic just to gain money and fame is very disappointing.

ramayana is not a religious drama, it's the sentiment of the Indian people. the producers tried to leverage the support of the Hindus for god knows what reason, but in turn, they ended up hurting the entire nation.

im a muslim nd my grand father use to say me to watch ramayan nd mahabhrat on dd bcz its a big part of the indian culture nd tradition nd to understand them but now...politics has destroyed everything...i miss those days when many Muslims love to watch Ramayan nd Mahabharat nd Hindus love to watch...ghalib, Mughaal e azam nd Akbar ...Hope we get back those days ASAP.

I dont think hindus watching mughal crap were great days. No country glorifies its own looters and foreign invaders. We were all tricked for decades into believing that praising mughals is ok bcoz we are secular. No generation should go through that. We feel quite betrayed even by our education system and this actually has nothing to do with politics. Infact politics is an outcome of this outrage that already existed

I guess we all understand what mughals were and what their objectives and motivations were. They might not be messengers of Islam but they are responsible for imposing a foreign culture on India. No smileys will change that unfortunate fact

As a Christian I can still remember how we used to plan our sundays to watch the Ramayan on DD those were the golden days of India ! Undivided love and respect for all religions a true secular society it was then !

Aahhh.. So you do remember this T-Series®' "guy" of getting "inspired by" legends like Late Sir Nusrat.. ...Only to rant over the identity-markers of those whose work he's paid to rip-off as his _Ātmanirbhara_ side-gig, podcaster-style.

I think even as a non hindu, I feel offended to watch this. I grew up watching the Japanese animated Ramayana and I love and cherish it to my heart. This is a complete insult to that movie.

Ramanand Sagar was a legend. Thank you for bringing Ramayan to our lives.

As a Christian, i think Ramayana is a literal masterpiece and we as Indians irrespective of our religions should be proud of Ramji, Laxmanji, Hanumanji and both Ramayana and Mahabharata as it is our rich Indian heritage. I didn't feel bad for the money i wasted but for my kids who never watched Ramand Sagar version of Ramayana, imagine what assumptions would they have seeing this film. That's how strong movie culture is in India to create imagery in the minds. Such cheap dialogues used man. Indrajit says these words to Ramji - "Abhi chup chap apna saman lapet aur yaha se nikal, bohot dekh liya Tera bandar naach" (what language, man) "Mera ek sapole ne tumhare shesh nag ko lamba kar diya" (cheap double meaning) "Raghav, tere ye bandar toh jungli hain, par tu toh samjhdar Hain na" (very insulting). Also, a pros titute is shown as the person who suggested Hanuman ji to get Sanjeevani instead of the real Jamavan ji as per Ramayana, also, Hanumanji is shown selfish where he says that more people would get injured so, let me take the whole mountain and not just for Laxman but for other warriors whereas the real is about Hanumanji being so innocent where he didn't understand which herb was Sanjeevani. Itni bakwas film! It should immediately be banned.

This was to be expected when the people working on the movie are bigger villains than Ravaan himself. From the movie's start to end, every frame screams that the director thinks "The people watching this are idiots and if I give them some bhakti bait, they will give me all their money". He took the money, and found the cheapest animation studio he could find, Akash explained the play on religious sentiment very well. He thought that the criticism would just fade, by making IT cell go with anti-Hindu narrative, but the film turned out so bad, even they can't save them. The evil world we live in.

I'm not even Hindu and even I thought this movie was insulting. The ancient religions have enough heart and soul to stand on their own, they don't need to be modernized

What a relief to be warned about super duper vfx junk Adipurush.... Saved from the mental torture & anguish.... I can only sympathize for those who have watched.... Thanks to Ramanand Sagar & Lord Ram... My memories of Ramayan have not been tainted... 😊🙏🙏
