Amazing video worth of a sub!! Even though I don't consider myself a beginner anymore, I still remember getting started. It was a tough journey. Of course, things are a lot easier now and I'm super grateful that I didn't give up and stayed patient all the way through. Consistency and hard work (I have also used a little bit of Famester to take off my channel, and I don't regret it) is the key for small channels and, in my experience always pay off.

My biggest things I have done was change my thumbnail style. Using more eye catching colors. Another thing is my style of story telling even tho I am just playing a video game. Making every game session an experience or story has gave my subscribers something to look forward to. Even though they have played the same game, hearing it as a story in someone else’s POV makes a world of a difference!!! Thanks VidIQ for providing some key things that pivoted my channel!

Man this was a great video. Love all the VidIQ content. I've had my small channel for a year, and struggle finishing content as I have a lot of research to do and want to do high quality. I experimented with lower quality videos to get more content and that didn't work. I'm really wanting to get to the next step and make a steady income even if it doesn't pay me as a full time job. I really love making the content.

it does give it a boost similar to all uploaded videos in the world, but if it doesn't bring enough attraction at first, then it will simply be on the grave, I know it's hard to accept but if your video isn't pushed enough, then it's not youtube's fault, it's your fault, either you like it or not.

Much appreciation for creators like you for teaching smaller channels the ropes of gaining a bigger audience. Videos like this helped me grow my channel to 100 subs in a month (much more than I expected lol) and gives me hope for getting monetized by the end of the year 🙌🏾 I only have 3 videos out now but I’ve been working on my consistency cause I know that’s a big part of what it takes if not the most important. Glad that I’ve at least got the ball rolling now though 🔥

I'm growing simply because I focus on what other creators don't focus on. When I started off with KZread officially 3 months ago, I knew Minecraft content was incredibly competitive, and a year ago I wouldn't have even considered it. But I have a ton of ideas that, apparently, have not been done before, and 75% of those ideas have not even come to pass yet. I first jumped on trending topics and created my own editing style that outdid other creators in this niche. Not talking about cool edit montages, just a well-led story. After gaining views and more subscribers from that, I switched to ideas that were unique but still relevant to the niche. As such, I now have 10k subscribers and average 100k views per video. And I'm yet to enter the phase (which is planned out) where I'll get millions of views. If you put your mind to it and have full dedication to grow, then you'll succeed, but sadly 90% of youtubers will quit half-way. I've had my lows as well, but I never quit, I change the plan.

TLDR; Everyone's trying to be the BIG FISH in a vast sea of creators in a specific competitive niche, instead; Become a BIG FISH in a small pond(specific untouched niche), and if the time that the pond is too small for you you have the choice to scale up and go to a bigger body of water(competitive space)

I agree with a lot of what he said because lately I've been testing out some things he mentioned on my own and I could see the vids I tested on were getting better than my old vids and my struggling vids. I do baking tutorials and i have a homestead (not on my channel though) and i speculated in one video about swapping out the chicken egg for duck egg. I got comments from viewers saying it sounded cool and they had never done it either. So i check around and the only videos i could find about involved hatching duck egg or cooking just duck egg. Even though duck egg is rather common in baked goods. So i made a video for a pancake recipe and i did a double. I made one batch with chicken egg and the other with duck, side by side comparisons and my thoughts and opinions. Its one of my most popular videos And I'm the only video i could find doing it

Okay, I heard "do your strategic thing and just keep going." I am walking that walk, for sure. I recently came to the conclusion that my thumbnails will never be that great, so I stick with telling people what it's about in 5 or fewer words OR playing on curiosity. I am pulling back on 2 long videos a week, especially after my 49-minute comparison one that took me a while to edit down. I am dedicating time to research, do a few shorts every week, and expand to 2 other platforms to get some more exposure. I'm definitely growing and want to grow more, but there's only so much I can control. 😂

But on the other side, even when you have over 1.65M subscribers, your videos usually don't even get to 100K views - Why? Althrough I think that your videos are great, they have good titles and thumbnails, well edited and they make their point. Thanks for answering!

  • @DerHouy

I guess it's because people watch the video, try these things and still don't make it, and then it's not worth to watch another. I take these videos with a grain of salt, there are a ton of big KZreadrs out there who will tell you it's mostly luck and if you have a big subscriber base and don't mess it up much, there is probably no one who can steal that base and small channels stay small because of the much lower subscriber base in the first place. If let's say a German "Gronkh" has 2,2m subs and nearly entire Germany knows its name, you can do better content no matter what, ppl will watch "Gronkh", not the small Channel. They are used to the voice, know the person etc. There are many people who got famous because they randomly met very big established creators or big creators made them big with twitch raids etc. It' like being in the industry, if you're big and you got the money, you got possibilities and much more chances, if you're small you got no power, no big audience, not much chances and rely mostly on luck. Most people don't want to hear that, and I guess even VidIQ would say it's wrong. But thousands if not millions can tell you another story. I also made some videos no one did and earned my first 1000 Subs and many views, and it stopped when some big creators copied my idea and pushed out more videos of it (because I can't do it full time) and they even had not the quality I had. Still, they stole it and dropped my views tremendously. So yeah.

KZread tips & strategies is a fairly niche market and vidIQ is very aware of this. The majority of their sub base probably started off as potential content creators but then eventually those viewers move on (but are still subscribed). Vid IQ is constantly serving new viewers, people who become interested in KZread, and like the viewers before many of these viewers will give up on the KZread journey and move on. Low views compared to subs does not mean they are doing bad, this is simply the market they are in, and it still works for them.

All these advices feels like trash haha. It seems so dumb feels like they are doing it for money by telling us low quality feedback in loops. If you really look at it, don't mind about competition, it's irrelevant totally irrelevant. The truth is you have have to make videos on whatever you like but that topic needs to have an audience, and to get the audience in your video, the main problem j see is, we suck at influencing people's emotions. That alone makes us unsuccessful. I mean thumbnail and title are pretty kindergarten compared to making people happy. Even if you work hard you won't be big unless if you learn to make the people happy. I have been here for 7 years and finally found that truth consciously. I knew it unconsciously long time ago but I know it consciously now, and I have to go to collage and get a big job first, that's my step, I need big budget first for video productions. You have to solve your problem to fix up on why you are incapable of making people not happy from your content. You're welcome for the feedback.

  • @Narayan

    @Narayan

    7 ай бұрын

Also competition is nothing to worry, here's an analogical insight: you know there are lots of stores all over the place, but when a person opens a store it still gets sells, sometimes some new stores get so much popularity, it depends on what kind of things they sell, how often they restock and all other small data points. Same on KZread there's competition but it's nothing if you focus on how you can serve the people correctly. Unsatisfactory videos are like rotten fruits, people can see it but don't buy it.

are very important but the videos concept is more important than the thumbnail. You could have the best minecraft 100 days video thumbnail but the video is going into a saturated market. Much better to have an OK thumbnail for say an up and coming indie game that does not have any competition

Being an outdoor creator that started with very cheap and basic camera gear and very limited knowledge of editing I am wondering, Should I refilm some of my older content. Things such as Bush Walks that were done several years ago with very shaky footage. Should I refilm them now that I have much better camers, editing gear, mics and knowledge?

It's great to hear Spiffing Brits opinions on this. There's a few things that are different to what I've heard. It's something I'll think about and see how I can apply it to my channel.
