    I've had this grill for a few years. It's an awesome budget grill, especially with the higher end features. Current cost is $97, but my wife picked it up on clearance, for around $60. Spend the extra few bucks for the cover, especially if you plan to leave it on the patio, all year long. Mine lives in the garage, half the year, but I still keep it covered. It's great for beginners, or folks that just want the smoky charcoal flavor on their burgers and steaks. It will hold up to minor neglect and abuse, though you do want to put forth an effort towards care and maintenance, just as you would for anything else. Again, great grill. I recommend it.

    Great point about having a cover! We have a huge building out back where our outdoor cooking equipment lives, year-round. I agree with the care and maintenance you mentioned as well. We still love it and it's still serving us well!

    @@OldCountryCooks Oh, wow; appreciate the pin! My garage is fairly sizable, too, lol. I still use the cover, in there, because I weld, cut wood, a do a lot of other stuff in the garage. Without that cover, I'd have 2 inches of dust to knock off, everytime I wanted to grill something.

Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. I have this grill. It's perfect for searing you can get an absolute jet engine sear. However the dampers do not make a tight seal and the lid doesn't shut all the way down tightly so it's very hard to keep a low and slow cook going. Temps go up too high

    CastIronSkillet I just came from Costco with a measuring tape and measured their ribs. They sell most packets for about 30 bucks for 3 full racks. The rib-racks seemed a little long and Lane, they were about 18 in long. The Expert Grill griller grates are about 16 inches in length. Rib rack holders that I've been researching average about five slots hold 5 rib racks on their side. But if the grates are 16 inches long, I'm thinking I will have to cut an inch or two off of 4 slabs of ribs, and then use the fifth rack slot to hold the combined pieces I would needs to cut off. Does this sound right? I'm trying to do the math. haha.... keep up the great videos.

  • @OldCountryCooks

    @OldCountryCooks

    Hey Nunya! The bottom vents are like any charcoal or wood burning grill. The more it's open the more air you feed the fire the hotter it gets to a certain point. If you are doing a hot fast cook just open all the vents but if you are doing a slow cook with control temperature then you need to close the bottom vents about 1/4 inch closed then adjust to maintain the temperature you want, The bottom vents just helps regulate your temperature.

    Hey Recoil816. Thanks for coming by and commenting. They will rust but I cover or line mine with heavy duty foil and I change it out ever so often. I think the biggest problem with this grill is the sealing around the lid. I had to put a gasket around mine and I will show that process soon. If you don't close the gap up you have to use less coal or wood to control the heat. Mine is still working fine today. Here is a cook I did last weekend on it. And I followed all of the instructions and still didn’t work out and peeled off within couple of uses for that reasons I don’t trust that brand. Probably a manufacturer’s issue.

    Thank you Sal. Yes it is cheaply made except for the grates. I mentioned that in my review. The design is great with the adjustable charcoal bed. I also keep mine indoors when not in use. I had one issue with the paint but that was my fault. I had a grease fire from a grease build up on the side that I should have cleaned up before the next cook. I fixed that with some black high heat paint. All in all this grill is for those who don't do a lot of cooking and don't have the money for a grill this size. If you bbq a lot no this is not the right grill. I myself have 2 gas grills, 3 charcoal grill, 1 X-Large smoke box, 1 electric smoker and one gas smoker. I really do hope you find the one that's right for you and your budget. Thanks again wishin' you some outstanding bbq's!
