Experience Nostalgic Vibes With Retro Pizza Huts - Bringing Back The 70s And 80s!

So thankful to see this video from @DazewithJordantheLion !! Although these Huts have been around a whilie, I had no idea they existed. Luckily one was somewhat near to where I was at the time and had to go and relive some of my childhood memories. Friday and Saturday nights at Pizza Hut were such a treat as kid in the 70's and 80's. I wish they were all like they were then with the Pac-man game, the Juke boxes, and of course the salad bar. Join me for a walk down memory lane.

Do you have memories of Pizza Hut when you were a kid in 70s or 80s?

I remember my Aunt Thelma (R.I.P.) took my cousins and I out for pizza at Pizza Hut in Lanham, MD in 1989. There was a food buffet and the food was delicious! Going there was a treat!!

Yes it was. Unfortunately the younger generations will never know how much of a treat it was🤙

What a great idea! Wish more places copied this idea. I lived in Helsinki briefly where they had a 1950's themed McDonald's, that's was cool too. They only played music from the 50's too which all added to the nostalgia. An 80's themes are the best though! Cool vid!

Yes sir! If only they would have 80's music on it would have made it soooo much better. Unfortunately they were playing modern crap. As always thanks for watching.

Yep my favorite was their Creamy Italian Dressing. Even as a kid I loved that dressing. So good!

It was a wonderful experience. I don’t understand why the demand faded. You were seated, your order taken, then you went to the salad bar. By the time you were finished with your delicious salad the pizza arrived piping hot. So much fun. I also miss the pizza buffet. You could enjoy slices of variously topped pizzas. So good!

Absolutely. I think there might still be one Pizza Hut in San Antonio that does the lunch buffet. Haven't been in a while, but need to see. Thanks for commenting 🤙

A few key nostalgic items missing, if I remember correctly. Red and white checkered curtains, stained glass on some booths, brass railing, video games (arcade style). Close but not exactly accurate.

You are correct. I'm hoping the one in Fredericksburg has a little more. Google shows the red and white table clothes at least and ai think a juke box.

In the early 1970's, the Pizza Huts all had salads, pizzas, spaghetti, Cavatini, garlic bread and sandwiches. I had to travel to Norway for a business trip and the dress code for entry to the Norwegian Pizza Hut was classic business attire (think 2-piece suits, and dresses for the ladies) and they served wine with the meal. The US Pizza Hut chains were never the same after that trip to Norway because American chains just don't know how to do it right.
